Falling Into Place

Farewell Brooklyn
Last Sunday my family, Zach and I went to my cousin Brooklyn's farewell talk out in Avondale. She is serving in the New York, NewYork ASL mission! That is the exact mission that her Dad served in (and why her name is Brooklyn) and her mom also served did some ASL on her mission in Nebraska and the Dakotas (which is why her middle name is Dakota... so cool!). She bore her testimony in ASL at the end... and I know pretty much no signs but even if you didn't know anything she was saying, you knew it was so sweet and so powerful. She is going to be an amazing missionary! After he talk we went to her house to eat some lunch, and it was a grand ol' time with that side of the family.

I don't have the photos that my aunt Bedie took, so here is a photo of Zach, Kenzie and I during the meeting

Work Work Work Work
I think I have finally adjusted to the whole working 40 hours a week thing... I definitely adjusted to it when I got my first paycheck. The first couple weeks of a new job (let alone one you don't have a whole lot of experience in) can be insane, but after my second week of work I think I am finally starting to get a grip on things. I love the people I work with, I love working in Photoshop, I love not working weekends and I love making money. I don't like going back to work on a Monday and having to catch up on everything from the weekend, I don't like when I can't remember things, and I don't like when I speak too fast... which is apparently all the time. But overall, everything is going good!

Kara came to visit!!
Last Tuesday Kara had to up to the valley for some doctors appointments that didn't quite work out, but Zach, Derrick and I got to hang out with her on Tuesday night for a little bit. We hung out near San Tan mall catching each other up on each others lives, talking about temples and talking about random nonsense. We somehow ended up in Deseret Book and just wandered around in there looking at all the random things that store holds. Because I am an adult now with a job that requires me to wake up early in the morning, I had to call it early that night, but it was fun hanging out with all of them for the time that we did!

Sealings
After all the talk about temples with Kara (who is preparing to go on a mission) Zach and I decided to go to the temple on Wednesday (that's two weekends in a row that I went to the temple people... I know that's unimpressive to many of you who go like every weekend... but I felt pretty cool). We decided to do sealings since I had never done them before and it was awesome! Afterwards we spent some time in the Celestial Room and then went and got dinner at Costco (because there is no better dinner than Costco dinner).

Say Yes To The Dress
There is a dress that has had my eye online for quite awhile now, and I just knew I was going to buy it. But everyone was saying to me to at least just go into a bridal shop to try dresses on, just for the fun of it. So that's what I did on Saturday. I went to Brilliant Bridal just to try some dresses on and have some fun with my mom, Lauren, Sadie and Abby. My big thing while I was trying on dresses was that I needed to be able to dance and dance hard in whatever dress I was wearing... and a lot of the sleeves really restricted me from doing so. After trying on three dresses that I chose, I pretty much knew that nothing would top the online dress, but my amazing stylist brought three more dresses out for me, and the first one that she wanted me to try on was AH-MA-ZING! And any other dress I tried on after that was pretty much awful in comparison.... I knew that that was the dress I needed to buy... but I was so in shock by how fast it all happened that I couldn't believe it was actually happening. Pretty much the entire car ride home I was like "did that just happen?!?" I am SO EXCITED though. Everything is really just falling into place with this wedding, and I couldn't be happier. And yes, I am going to dance so hard in that dress.
Major shout out to these ladies for offering their opinions on all the dresses and taking all the photos and for dealing with my crazy arm movements while trying them on (seriously the live photos are hilarious with my strange arm movements)

General Conference
Ldsconf was AWESOME! I watched all four sessions from the weekend and just soaked it all in (except Sunday Afternoon... that's the one session that just never rolls with me). Some great things that I took away from the conference were not to persecute people even when they have different opinions, stop using fear to manipulate people into doing what you want, make room for people (especially those who aren't cookie cutters) and have patience for people, and that Christ is such a huge factor in my life and I shouldn't ever forget that. Something really cool that I liked with some of the talks was the discussion of the Godhead and how each member impacts our lives and what their roles are in it.

Here are a few of my favorite talks:
For FHE tonight we are doing a jeopardy that incorporates general conference into it, so I had to pay extra attention in order to come up with some good questions. This helped me a lot later on Sunday evening when I went to Zach's house for the monthly Hunt-Walton-Pecks dinner, where we played a General Conference review game... except for the questions from Saturday afternoon of course lol.

I know my blogs are getting shorter and way less exciting, but hopefully life will start to pick up again now that I am used to my job and starting to plan things the next few weeks!
