Mamasita

Well it's official, I am going to be going to Mesa at least one day each weekend in November... yay for that gas money, but hey at least it's dropped below $2.00 here in Tucson.

So weekend #2 in Mesa. What for this time? It was my lovely mothers birthday on Friday!
The other week I was talking to Avery about birthdays and how old I am turning this year. I told her that I would be turning 20, and she said: "that's almost as old as mom!" and then I asked her how old mom was and Avery replied "22!".... Looks like I only have two more years before I am the same age as my mom, crazy how time flies like that!
Anyway! Rory and I drove to Mesa after dollar lunch. EJ, my Dad and McKenzie were all still at work so we waited for them to get home before any party started. Once everyone was off work we went to Joe's Farm Grill for birthday dinner. Joe's is a family favorite for the Richardson's and is often the restaurant of choice when it comes to birthdays (especially since you get $10 off your meal).
After the dinner we went to Safeway to buy a cake because #classy, and then went back to the house to dive into the delicious sweetness that is rum cake, and to *attempt* to take a family photo... my family is sort of hard to contain when it comes to photos... but one of these days we will get a good one.

The best we can do... and it's out of focus. One of these days.... hopefully in daylight

After the party was over I went over to Zach's house, but I was so exhausted from the day, I immediately fell asleep on his couch. I am clearly a party animal.

On Saturday I went on a walk with EJ and our dog, Chloe (I don't think I've ever mentioned that I have a dog on the blog.... but I do haha her name is Chloe). Then all the siblings came together to try out that accapella app that is sweeping social media. Apparently you have to come out with all the sounds on your own, so it's a lot harder than it looks, I seriously don't know how people did it. Just to show the the diverse taste in music in my family we did Gimme More by Britney Spears and Rotten to the Core from Disney's Descendants. Can you guess which one Avery chose? (Gimme more obviously...)
Then Zach came over and he, Ej and I went to Subway to buy everyone some subs. Of course it was empty right when we walk in, which was perfect because we had to order 6 sandwiches, but then as soon as we started ordering tons of people came in.... so we held up the line a lot... and the workers didn't seem so happy. But oh well, that's business.

Rory and I left back to Tucson around 1. I spent mostly the rest of my day working on my video sequencing project for my multimedia class. I ran into quite a few roadblocks when my mini sd card would not be read by my computer or the audio recorder (I had an important interview on there so it was imperative that I get the data off). If the SD card reader was held in the perfect spot in my computer than the card would be read.... but not long enough to get the file to the computer. Luckily I was able to solve my problem by buying a new SD card reader (and a new mini sd card, so I don't have to deal with this again). But I pretty much finished my project which was due Monday, so i was pretty proud of myself.

On Sunday, Annabeth and I went to the special stake conference thing for the stakes in the south west region of the US. There were some really awesome talks, but there was one that I especially liked (I don't remember his name who gave the talk), but he talked about how if we have a testimony of the most basic doctrines in the church we will have a better foundation for when the more tricky things pop up that don't quite make sense to you. Which pretty much summed up my weekend with recent changes happening.

Monday was the usual school day.... EXCEPT I WENT TO A PETTING ZOO. Most of you may know that I HATE petting zoos, with just about every fiber of my being. And the one thing that I hate more than petting zoos, is a particular animal that is often featured at petting zoos.... I don't see the need to type out the evil word, but you all can probably guess if you know my history with animals. But anyway, there was a petting zoo on campus and my students wanted to check it out... and I can't say no to my students. The only thing that made being at the zoo a little bearable for me was this GINORMOUS St Bernard. I swear if he sat on me he would probably kill me. He was so sweet though, I just focused all my energy on him, to help me get through such a challenging time in my life.
Seriously look at that guy!!!
Jesus thought the zoo was awesome..... I did not.

Also on Monday there was FHE. You see last week we were supposed to be filming an advertisement for the Institute with our designated families. My "parents" did not know that was what we were supposed to be doing, so they planned for us to go get Sonoran hot dogs instead. Most people would rather go eat hot dogs rather than trying to film a video so we went through with their plan. But we did decide to do a video anyway.... just not necessarily one about the institute. We related Sonoran Hot Dogs to gospel principles.... It was actually really hilarious. ANYWAY, this past Monday was also dedicated to making our ads, but we already finished, so instead we had an awesome lesson about gratitude and made pizookies. I also debuted the ad to our family, I think it will probably win the contest.... LOL.

Today was just my regular school day, except I did get interviewed for being staff member of the week for the Daily Wildcat, so that's fancy.
Guess what guys! My birthday is one week from tomorrow, and Black Friday (oh and Thanksgiving) is the week after that! I seriously love November. Oh and tomorrow is Veteran's Day so there's no school. I don't have school anyway, but I did have work off because of it, so I'll probably be joining my ward on their trip to the Gilbert temple... fun fun fun!
