How To End Your Twentieth Year

Well everybody, tonight is my last night as a teenager... how is that even possible? I'm pretty sure I am still 16 worrying about what I am supposed to do after high school. But surely enough, that was 4 years ago. Insanity. But I have quite the exciting last week of my twentieth year, so I figure, blogging about it is a good thing to do.

Wednesday November 11
No school! Well... I don't have school on Wednesday's so no work for me.... which means less money... Not the best situation, but oh well free day. Maddy and I convinced each other to go on the ward Gilbert temple trip, but both of us swore that we were not going to drive. Luckily, there were enough drivers that we didn't have to, so we just hopped in a car with Loren and Dani and were on our way.
Since it was Veteran's day everyone and their mom was at the temple so the process took quite awhile... it seemed even longer because we went during lunch time and had not eaten yet. Some of us were getting pretty hangry (cough cough Maddy) but we made it through! It was a great experience as usual even though we were limited to three names a person. After we were done doing baptisms we waited for the endowed people to be done with their sessions, we snapped a quick picture and then went to Cafe Rio!

Thursday November 12
Nothing too exciting happened on Thursday, just school. EXCEPT Kim Newton (my multimedia professor, and my photojournalism professor in Italy) finally gave me the photos he took during the summer. There was a specific photo that I wanted that I asked for on the very first day of school and he didn't give it to me until this day! I bugged him about it every week but apparently the file was lost in the archive, but have no fear it was found, and he even sent me other pictures, so now we all get to reminisce some Italy!

Oh man I miss Italy and little Cecilia who can't speak a lick of english.

Friday November 13
I went to a fun internship advice thing at the journalism school, there was pizza, so that's why I went.
Rory's third trivia night was also on Friday. Trivia night has now gotten so big that he hosted it at the institute with a projector and a microphone. He was very official. My team this time consisted of: Madelyn Erekson, Steph Shaw, Caroline Porter and Sam the Badger. We called ourselves the Infectious, Rabid Elbows. Makes sense. Oh and we won. That's two trivia nights in a row, I am a pro.
Here are a couple of questions from the night if you want to get a taste:

You are in this city for "Helldorado Days" in October. What city are you visiting?

Who told his guests that they were going to celebrate his girlfriend's graduation, and then surprised them with a wedding when they arrived?

Where is Nacho Libre's mother from?

Which constitutional amendment guarantees due process for federal issues?

What president said "The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help"?

What was the last Disney film to win an Academy Award for best animated feature?

If you think those are wicked fun questions, you should come to the next trivia night!

Saturday November 14
Steph and I woke up bright and early to go take some graduation pictures of the first half of Tralyssa. I am terrible at posing people, but I know how to take pictures, so Steph does the posing and I press the button. The second half of Tralyssa was there also to help us out. Here are some of my faves:

Then I treated Steph to some doughnuts for waking up so early and helping me.
Later we went to Raising Cane's because it opened in Tucson on Thursday! It was crazy busy, but crazy delicious.

Then eventually it was time to attend the last home football game of the year. It was quite the chilly night but man what a game! DOUBLE OVERTIME, that's good cause for a heart attack and a half. But we did it people, Arizona beat Utah! Oh and we stormed the field. I have officially stormed the field every year I have been in college, but it was Steph and Annabeth's first time storming, so I was very happy for them. It's weird to think that the game was SO many people's last football game, like Taylor, Dakota, Caroline, Annabeth (and more that I just can't think of at this time). I don't know what football games are going to be like without them there (well maybe I can imagine without Annabeth since this was actually her first full football game, but hey at least she made it to one!) Also let's just talk about how excited I was that there was FINALLY a blue out game. I just look a lot better in blue than I do red, and we only have red outs and white outs. And the free shirts were freaking awesome (Steph and Annabeth are wearing them in the photo below)

Sunday November 15
What a happy happy day Sunday was. Both Sadie AND Zach were giving talks in their ward! It was Sadie's homecoming talk (a whole month later haha) and Zach gave a talk about the Book of Mormon, which was super appropriate since we both just recently did a Book of Mormon challenge. But they both did AMAZING and I am so happy that I got to see them both speak on the same day in the same ward. They just rock, I have the greatest best friend and boyfriend in the world.
After sacrament meeting we went to Sadie's house for some meatball subs and some soda floats. I seriously wish I could live in the same city as Sadie because I love hanging out with her (and Zach and Trev of course) and it makes me so sad that we have spent so little time together since she got back. But I am so grateful for the time we do get to spend together whenever I am in town. She's just my fave. Also her whole fam is my fave, I miss them always.

Monday November 16
WOOOORK, then I worked on my final project trailer for multimedia. Then I went to FHE where we watched the videos we made. I honestly felt so bad because we didn't make an actual ad for the institute like we were supposed to and there was only one other video. Luckily the other family followed the directions and made a very good video ad for the institute.... ours..... not so much. But oh well haha.

Tuesday November 17
My final day as a 19 year old. WOOHOO. I spent it at school. My first class was cancelled for conferences. I had my conference at 9:30 so I got to sleep in a little bit, and the conference only lasted 10 minutes so I had a lot of free time before my institute class. Then I had institute, then multimedia, then government and then my ethics class was cancelled, so I spent that time writing an essay for that class super fun. To celebrate my last day as a teenager I went to Canes to get a free meal with a coupon Rory gave me from the football game. The line there was insanely long, but it was all worth it.

Seriously guys, I am so in shock that I am not going to be a teenager soon.... WHAAAAAT!

  1. Its true. I was really hangry. But you always need that one aggressive person to get stuff done, so really I was being nice by being mean?
Also Blue out = love of my life.
