Cool Ranch For The Summer [Halloween]

Friday October 30
Zach arrived at my house bright and early in the morning and came to work with me. Work was a little different this day because I was put on turn around duty. Basically what turn around duty means is sitting at a table and checking off students as they arrive and make sure they get to their peer mentors. I had Tony there helping me out from 9-10, and then Jesus and Chase to party with until 11. It was a pretty exciting morning mostly because of Chase's dance moves. I rarely get to work with him, so I get pretty excited when I do.

After work, was devotional as usual. I requested the topic for the week: the distinctions between my relationship with each member of the Godhead. I learned a lot of new things in the devotional which was helpful, but I still have a few questions left unanswered which I am determined to figure out.

Once devotional was over, Zach was a doll and drove me to my internship so I can get more paperwork filled out, and so I can get my new pretty press pass. I'm going to start collecting all the press passes I receive haha.
After doing my business at the internship, Zach and I went to lunch at BJs because we both wanted some black cherry soda. Then we went to the mall to try and find a brown shirt for my halloween costume that night. I want to know who decided brown was an ugly color, because I want to blame them for the troubles I had just trying to find one brown shirt.... so many stores, so little brown shirts. Eventually I found a brown cardigan at target and just bought it.... but then I later went to Wal Mart AND THEY HAD A BROWN SHIRT HALLELUJAH, so I didn't need the brown cardigan anymore.
I was honestly so stressed out about the whole brown shirt thing, but one thing made up for it... Zach and I found the new mountain dew, and it's super delicious. You all should go try it.

After all the shopping it was finally time to get ready for the institute halloween dance. My roommates theme this year was animals. Steph was a lion, I was a bear, Amanda was a fish and Annabeth was a unicorn. Zach tagged along and was a bear with me. After we were ready we went to the sketchy park down the street from my house to take some pictures of how cool we looked.

Then we went to the dance, which was amazing as usual. Apparently they played Believe by Cher before we got there (the week before at dollar lunch there were song request sheets and we put Believe on each sheet at least once), but luckily they played it again for us as a finale song as everyone started to clean.
At one point I took my camera out so we could get a roomie picture and then all of a sudden people thought I was taking pictures for the dance... and I'm like "well no one asked me to so I'm not taking the job on" so I quickly returned my camera back to it's bag.

I convinced Caroline to be a tiger so we could be lions and tigers and bears... oh my!

After the dance I worked on the photos and then went to sleep.

Saturday October 31
I woke up fairly early in the morning, so Zach and I could drive back to Mesa to spend Halloween with my family. Steph followed behind shortly after so it truly would be a party.
Zach dropped me off at my house so he could go do some things. I joined EJ and my sisters on an adventure to to buy soda. If you don't know my family, they don't hand out candy on halloween, but rather soda cans. We get lots of trick or treaters in our neighborhood so that means a lot of soda. Well we price matched this deal from Bashas at Wal Mart and we got 18 12 packs for a little over $2 each... that's one heck of a deal people!

After the soda adventure, Steph arrived at my house, then Zach arrived. We decided to join my family on an adventure at Michaels to buy EJ's halloween costume, which Zach and I decided to join him on. See, EJ was going to be "cool ranch for the summer" his costume would consist of him being a bag of cool ranch doritos and then on the back of his shirt say "don't tell your mother." Some of you smarties may have been thinking "hey that's kind of like cool for the summer by Demi Lovato" well you would be correct, that's exactly what EJ was going for. Zach and I made shirts also but instead of being cool ranch we were nacho cheese and salsa verde.
We spent a decent amount of time cutting out felt into chips, creating an iron on doritos label, and just putting the shirt all together. The finishing piece were these orange shutter shades from the dollar store to make us look extra cool. Once our costumes were ready, we were ready to roll out to Schnepf Farms to party there on halloween with the crew:
Well turns out Schnepf Farms closes at 4 on halloween........ I was very upset..... They advertised horribly for this. Schnepf was going to be my video for Queen Creek, so I was super bummed. I still made the video anyway, but it's definitely not as cool... also it's only like one minute so that's that. Luckily the crew was pretty easy going and didn't stress too much about our failed plans. Since we didn't go to Schnepf we went to Chipotle to get our super cheap burritos. Lots of people commented on our doritos costumes, so it made us all feel pretty cool.

After we went to Chipotle we went to my house and walked around the neighborhood taking Avery trick or treating. She didn't want to go to any of the houses that had scary things on it, and most of the time someone had to go to the door with her, but by the end of her trick or treating trip she was brave and went to a few houses all on her own. She filled her bucket so much that the handles started breaking off, once they broke off for the 5th time she was done trick or treating, but I would say she got a very good amount for a 5 year old.
She was Mal from Descendants for halloween

Sadie and Audrie joined us along the way and we had a little party at my house filled with pumpkin pie, whip cream, and doing the whip nae nae. After the "party" we went to bahama bucks to see McKenzie working and so we could have another dance party because there were no customers.

Eventually it was time for Steph and I to head back to Tucson, I was dead tired from a very fun day.

Sunday November 1st
Happy birthday month everyone haha
So Sunday I went to Cyclovia in the morning so I could film some people riding bikes and what not for my video sequencing project in my multimedia reporting class. A lot of my students were volunteering there so it was fun to see them. Tim's mom even bought me a Sonoran Snowball (shaved ice) with guava flavor! Guava is my absolute favorite flavor and I still hold a grudge against bahama bucks for discontinuing it.
After I spent the morning there, I went back to my house to work on some homework before my roommates got home from church. Then, as per November 1st tradition, we went and took our roomie Christmas card pictures. This year we decided that since I have a camera, and Zach's tripod we should just take our own pictures, and that's exactly what we did. I'm sure we were quite the site walking around downtown posing at all these random places in front of a tripod. But the pictures turned out pretty good, so I am proud of us.

44 divided by 2 is 22 and that's how old Annabeth is
22 - 2 is how old Steph is
It just makes sense

Y'all can check out the rest on facebook. If you want a Christmas card with these pretty faces, just let me know haha.

Monday November 2
I had work all the live long day, then I went to CSL Plasma to conduct an interview for an article I am writing. I re-made a friend there who has been in multiple classes with me but we never really talk. He was donating plasma and I was writing about people donating, it was a good match.
After my interview I called a Hemophilia clinic to conduct yet another interview.
Then I went to FHE and ate my very first Sonoran hot dog. The hot dog itself was not that good but all the toppings were delicious. One would think it would be the other way around for me, but it wasn't. Apparently we were supposed to be making a video for FHE that had to do with church, but since we went to the hot dog place instead, I recorded everyone relating their experience to the church. It's actually really funny. I'll be working on the video soon.

Tuesday November 3
School all the live long day. Then after school I had to take some photos for my internship at the Republican and Democrat parties since it was election day. Tucson is a very blue place so everyone was expecting the incumbent democrats to win.... except for the Republicans. I made sure to go to the Republican party before the votes were in, so I could capture them while they were all still in good moods. Then once some of the votes started rolling in I headed over to the Democrat party, where it was much livelier and WAY more people. Both parties were fun though, full of nice people that I networked with.
And look my first Tucson Local Media photo woohooo

I am so psyched that it is November people! Only 14 more days until I am 20!
