Pedal to the Metal

We are currently in the 9th month of a 12 month year (I know that's obvious). That means I only have these four months left to complete my goal for 2015 to go to all 91 incorporated places in Arizona. So it's now time to put the pedal to the metal. I need to knocking off cities left and right, more trips involving more cities. I am fully determined to finish this by December 31st at 11:59 pm (honestly how cool would it be if I rolled into my last city at that exact time).

This past Saturday I chose some of my favorite hoodlums (Steph, Annabeth, Caroline & Andrew) to join me as we conquered the final cities of south eastern Arizona: Huachuca City, Sierra Vista, Bisbee, Douglas & Willcox.

Here is the video version of that day's adventure:

And now the photo version with some typed comments
Huachuca City, AZ
Huachuca City is not the most liveliest of municipalities in Arizona. The City Hall pictured above was the most exciting thing there I swear. This was Andrew's first time coming along for the journey and Huachuca City did not give the best first impression.

I think Annabeth is one of my favorite people to travel with because she loves being photographed just as much as I love taking pictures.

Sierra Vista, AZ
Whenever I go to cities and it's around some sort of meal time, I try to go to a local eatery. We were in Sierra Vista around lunch time and we went to Texas Roadhouse... Yes, I am aware that Texas Roadhouse is not a Sierra Vista native, but it's still good and what the majority of the group wanted to eat.
Also in Sierra Vista, we went to Ramsey Canyon and saw some deer and horses and the folklore museum.

Bisbee, AZ

Old Town Bisbee is super cute and had many opportunities for photo-ops. We got a lot of funny looks from the locals from all the video/pictures I was taking. While in Bisbee we also looked at their lavender mine which was so beautiful in person and my video just did not do it justice.

Douglas, AZ
Funny story while we were in Douglas: We were all aware that we were close to the US/Mexico border. Off in the near distance Annabeth and Steph saw a black wall and assumed it was the border. I was really confused why the border was in what I thought was north, I was also just totally shocked that I could see the border. Turns out it was not the border at all, just a black hill.

Willcox, AZ
If there was one thing I learned in Willcox, it's that people do not have pretty swinging faces:

I have been to Willcox many times in my lifetime because my grandparents lived there for a little while. I always thought it was the most boring, pathetic excuse for a town. After going to so many cities/towns in Arizona, I think Willcox is actually quite cute and has a lot going for it, for such a little town that is.
Our original plan in Willcox was to go apple picking, but we pulled up to Willcox as the farm was closing, so we missed out on that adventure. An activity for another day.

This weekend I have another grand plan to cross more cities off my list. But I'm pressing a little harder on the gas pedal, and hitting 12 cities all in one day. Zach is a total trooper and will be joining me on what is expected to be a long but very exciting day.

If you're wondering what is going on in my everyday life... it's not very exciting. I am on campus all the live long day almost every day of the week. Some days I am in a classroom and on others I am working. Luckily I do have a pretty campus that makes it all worth it.
I am slowly but surely starting to feel the pressure of this semester, but I am determined to stay on top of all my assignments and get a 4.0 semester (something that is still yet to be achieved by me).
I also have been spending a lot of time on my Big Brother obsession, so that's college for ya.
