Football & Being In Labor

Thursday was the first football game of the season! I was in class until 4:45, so I immediately went home so I could go to the game. I was parked at the institute (which is 6 streets away from where I live) and it took me almost thirty minutes to get home! Football traffic is absolutely insane. As soon as I got to my house I changed into some boots (because it was raining and no one likes soggy shoes) and a sweatshirt and then walked over to the stadium. I thought it was going to rain during the entire game, which is why I chose to wear a sweatshirt... turns out it quickly ended as soon as we were at our seats, so I was pretty much situated in a furnace while wearing my sweatshirt, but don't worry it didn't stay on for very long.

The wildcats were up against the UTSA roadrunners, and we won (obviously) but we did have some injuries, one particularly devastating was Scooby. The good news is that he's only out for a few weeks, so we will have to survive without those Scooby sacks.

I love football season so much, just being in the stands makes me so happy. I love being there with my friends when we dance our butts off and make total fools of ourselves. We joke that if people didn't know us they would probably think we were hammered. HAMMERED ON LIFE that is.

Rory took Tristan to the game and he totally loved it

This might possibly be the most exciting football season because Annabeth Blanchard Seamans actually has a zonazoo pass this year!

Lauren came to the game too! She's my favorite person to dance with even though she is an alumna

Friday was work, devotional and dollar lunch. For devotional this semester we are discussing questions people have about the church, it's policies, doctrines, practices etc. really any concern or confusion you might have that has to do with anything. On Friday we talked about the sealing power, which I thought was very interesting and helped me see the subject with a new perspective.

After dollar lunch I went home to Mesa hung out with my family, Zach joined us, then I hung out with Zach's family for a little while. It's always nice having two families who are excited when I come home haha.

Saturday was the reason I came home for the weekend. I planned for Zach and I to do a day trip to 12 Arizona cities: Paradise Valley, Fountain Hills, Carefree, Cave Creek, Cottonwood, Clarkdale, Jerome, Prescott Valley, Dewey-Humboldt (my half way mark city), Chino Valley, Prescott and Wickenburg. It was a long day (we left at 6 am and got back around 8:30 pm) but it was so much fun. Zach is one of the few people that I could spend all day in a vehicle with and not have the urge to pretend I'm sleeping so they don't talk to me. Anyway, here is the video I made from the trip:

Now here are some pictures with commentary:
In Carefree they have America's largest sun dial. I am not really sure if that's true or not, but it was definitely a very large sun dial.

Funny story in Cave Creek: We were in this little frontier town that had lots of shops and statues and face-in-hole things. Well there was also a wooden outhouse out in the middle of this little town and I definitely peed in it even though I'm pretty sure it's more for display purposes #ohtheplacesyoullpee

In Cottonwood, AZ we tried to take a cute picture sitting on this pole thing, but it was too dang tall for me, I kept falling off

Clarkdale is all about copper, Zach is all about that model life

In Prescott we went to Frozen Frannies. Zach got frozen yogurt and I got a super delicious pomegranate Italian soda. I don't even care if Italian sodas aren't really Italian, they are too dang good.

I think the most eventful and most stressful city was when we went to Jerome. I don't know if you guys have ever been to Jerome but it's up on a mountain and all the roads are practically switchbacks and the width of your car. You really have to be a good driver to successfully drive in Jerome without dying. But you have to be an amazing driver to deal with the insane roads in pouring rain. Zach Walton is an amazing driver, and on top of all that he remained fairly calm on the outside, even though I am sure he was freaking out on the inside.

When we got back to Mesa we went over to his house and hung out with some of his extended family (he had cousins from Sahuarita in town). I don't think I've ever met a family as dedicated to agar.io as the Waltons, they're quite entertaining.

Sunday morning I went to my old friend (old because we have known each other forever, she's actual young) Sydney Baugh's daughter Navy's baby blessing. Navy is the cutest little baby and was so calm during her blessing, I was very impressed. Sydney is already such an amazing mom you could totally tell.

After the blessing, I went home, said goodbye to my family, went over to the Walton's to say goodbye to them and then headed back towards Tucson. I'm trying to be better at doing my homework during the week, so I don't wait until Sunday to do everything, but I totally failed this week, so I spent my Sunday doing homework.

Labor Day was totally chill. I did laundry. I went to Hobby Lobby and Kneaders with Steph (if you're wondering what dessert I got it was pumpkin cheesecake and yes, it was to die for). I worked on some homework. I wasted money at target. I went to FHE and played a strange version of Signs and an imitation game. So yeah, nothing too exciting but still good. The only bummer about labor day was that I didn't even get school off because all my classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I did get work off... but that means less money... oh well.
