On Friday after devotional and dollar lunch, Steph, Rory, Amanda and myself left to go on an adventure to Mammoth, Winkelman, Hayden and Kearny. All of these cities are very tiny so there wasn't much to do in each of them. We decided that if there was a Mexican restaurant in these places then we had to go there and try something. Mammoth and Hayden were our Mexican restaurant cities. I had the world's best cheese crisp in Mammoth and a very good beef taco in Hayden. In Winkelman we went to a tiny park with these really giant pennies, and in Kearny we played on a train, it was quite exciting.
I am still working on the video for this trip but until I have the time to do that, here are some pictures!
When we got back I got a text message from my photo editor asking if I could cover Game Day the next day. I was really excited about being apart of game day, so I didn't really want to be the media for it, but I am glad I did, I even got some TV time.
My roommates and I woke up bright and early at 2:30 am (Annabeth woke up saying a "nice" threat to the rest of us), Madelyn came over around 3 and then we headed over to the mall for game day. My call time for media wasn't until 5 am, but I still wanted to go an experience it with my roommates so I just sat in the GIANT line to get inside the mosh pit with them and read everyone's creative signs. When we got to the front of the line I had to separate myself from my friends because I wasn't allowed to go into the pit with my bag, so I just started to take pictures around until it was my call time. Finally it was my call time and I got my fancy media pass and was escorted back stage and then the party began! I was so exhausted people, I was there from 3-9 am and I didn't sit once with very little water access. But it was all worth it, because I made it on TV during Bear's comments like fifteen minutes into the show.

The terrible view of the media spot
Stalking Maddy Truman is my hobby
The most important moment of the show, I made sure I had the perfect spot on the media stage tog get this
The rest of Saturday was sooo long, I didn't get to nap at all so I owe all my energy to the glorious red bull. I was going to go to Kneaders with Steph for lunch, but it was closed, so we ate lunch at the tailgate instead. After the tailgate we waited in line under the stadium for two hours crunched up with so many sweaty bodies trying to push closer to the gate. Then I sat for another 3 hours in the stadium before the sun went down enough for me to be sitting in the shade. But we got free bucket hats so that made it a little bit better. Unfortunately, the game turned out much less than favorable, but hey at least ASU lost worse than we did.
Sunday was fast Sunday so that meant awkward testimonies, but that also meant BREAK THE FAST, where we had pulled chicken and pork sandwiches. I spent the rest of my Sunday doing homework for my ethics class and stressing about who my subject was going to be for my multimedia project.
If you recall from my last blog I wanted to do my project on a drag queen. I held out too long with hope that someone would let me do the story on them, but alas the drag queens failed me. I ended up doing Tim Schulz, a student with Cerebral Palsy. The story was very rushed but I got it done so I was happy. I was even happier when I found out that my professor really liked my idea.... although I still think my drag queen idea would have been so perfect.
Once I was done with my multimedia project and stressing over that, my stress had then turned to the crime report I had to write for my advanced reporting class. I am still very stressed about it because I seriously cannot get anyone to talk to me about assault, which makes my job a lot harder... you can't really BS journalism.... well you can you'll just get expelled from the school. SO that's what my life is dedicated to for the rest of the day, hunting down sources and writing a mediocre story. Oh and there's the thousand other assignments that I haven't prioritized that is due tonight as well. But I'm gotta try and stay positive.
The only thing that is getting me through this day is knowing the my best friend gets home from her mission tomorrow! I'm so psyched! I just wish my week didn't have to be so stressful before she came.
