When We Come Running

Holy smokes my summer is quickly coming to an end. I am returning back to the glorious dirty T on Sunday and I could not be more excited for this upcoming school year. Although I am excited for this new beginning, I am bummed that this summer does have to come to an end. Hands down, one of the best summers of my life. I lived and studied in Italy for a whole month, I went to Disneyland & Huntington Beach, crossed some more Arizona cities off my checklist, got to go to Girl's Camp again, finished Grey's Anatomy on Netflix and did not have to touch one single doughnut. I was living the life in summer 2015.

So a couple of things have happened since I last blogged

1: Zach, Trevor and I checked SEVEN more cities off of my checklist. Unfortunately, we did not escape the heat of the valley, we just moseyed our way over to the West Valley and hit up Guadalupe, Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria, Youngtown, El Mirage and Surprise! I have to say that my favorite part of this trip was when we went to New York Flavor in Surprise and bought homemade new york cheesecake and a concoction called "Egg Cream" (milk, chocolate & soda water mixed together). During our day trip we were running away from the storm that hit the valley and only experienced light rain as we were returning back home.

Guadalupe, AZ
After walking around downtown in the hellish heat, I decided it was more important to take the selfie in some A/C
It was actually quite stressful trying to take this selfie

Just some other fun pictures I took along the way

2: My mother went to Canada for the past week to help take care of her mom while her Dad went on a road trip. Since she left, I was in charge of driving McKenzie and Avery to and from school everyday, making them dinner yada yada the usual "mom" tasks. It was annoying at times having so much responsibility, but Avery's excitement to get ready to go to pre school everyday totally made up for it.

3: I went to Feed My Starving Children with Zach's family and their family friends the Hunts and the Pecks. If you ever have a free afternoon and don't know what to do, go to Feed My Starving Children! It is such an amazing place to serve so many people around the world. You package meals to go to children who suffer from hunger all around the world, and you get to package those meals to some pretty sweet tunes. Serving is fun, but it is even more fun when there is good music to dance to.
After our session was over we all went to this burger place called Stuffrageous, where they stuff your burgers with whatever your heart desires (within the limits of their menu). I stuffed mine with pepperoni and mozzarella cheese and it was delicious. I highly recommend their fried with their outrageous sauce!

4: It was Jonah's birthday the other day (Jonah is Zach's little brother). Zach and I joined him on a trip to bahama bucks to get his free shaved ice. Being completely honest here, he is the coolest 13 year old I know (I really don't know many, but I'm sure he would still be the coolest if I did).

Oh & the Walton's have invested in a selfie stick, so we had some fun with that

Although my Mesa summer is coming to a close, I do still have one more week before school starts while I am in Tucson. I am getting back on the work grind this week though. I am excited to return to Project FOCUS to see all the returning students and to meet all the new students.
