What A Feeling

This week has gone by extremely fast and yet it seems like the longest week at the same time.

Monday
Since I am registered to vote in Maricopa county and I did not register for an early voting ballot, I went home with Rory on Monday evening to vote the next morning.
When we got home my family all sat around the table and discussed who we were voting for and what we thought of the different propositions. And then I went over to Zach's house and talked to his mom about different people and different propositions.

Tuesday
I woke up bright and early to go vote at 7 AM. It was pretty exciting since it was my first time voting. Now I feel like I have the privilege of complaining about government, since I actually took time out of my day to vote. Right after we voted I went straight back to Tucson. Luckily, my 8 AM was cancelled (I wasn't planning on going even before my teach cancelled it) and so was my 11 AM. My first class didn't start until 12:30, so I just stayed home and did homework up until then. That was nice because I was really feeling overwhelmed with all the things I had due this week, and I was able to get a lot done that morning which eased my stress.
Wednesday
Let me just tell you all how much I thoroughly hate group work in college, with every fiber of my being. In my Public Administration class we were given an assignment on the first day of school to write a constitution and a few weeks later we were given the groups for that assignment. Well here we are in November, and this was the first day that we had even PLANNED to meet. I reserved a room in the library and a majority of the group said they could come and you know how many people came besides myself? Just one. ONE PERSON. I was so frustrated. But the day did not end in a sour note.
Steph told me earlier in the week that she was having a birthday surprise for me (a week and half early) on Wednesday. We met at the institute and walked over to chipotle for dinner and then she surprised me with tickets to the musical FLASHDANCE (greatest early surprise birthday present ever). We were probably one of the very few people there under the age of 50 and not handicapped. It was pretty hilarious because the door we were supposed to go in was also the handicap entrance so we had a lot of fun friends around us while we were waiting for the doors to open.

I love going to musicals and I haven't seen one in awhile and this show really made me miss everything that is theatre.
Shout out to Steph for being the best friendaroomie and coming in clutch with amazing surprises.

Thursday
I had an exam in my journalism class, which I am feeling fairly confident about and I'm anxious to see the results.
After school I attempted to have another meeting with my PA group... only one other person showed up once again, but at least it was a different person... progress.
After that I went to the institute for the Relief Society dinner which was super fun chillin with some ladies.
It was also my Moms birthday on Thursday. I wasn't able to go home to see her but I still made sure to post a somewhat embarrassing picture of her. All the kiddos at the institute were in love with her hair. I am very thankful for my Mom who has been my best friend for 19 year + 9 months. Before I was born she was convinced I was a boy and when I triumphantly entered the world she was shocked to find out I was girl... so shocked apparently the nurses thought she didn't want me. Well I am very grateful she decided to keep me because she is the greatest role model for me.

Friday
My family came into town for homecoming weekend. In the evening we (my family +Steph) attended mine and Rorys scholarship dinner from my Dads fraternity. We got free appetizers and free drinks so it was definitely a solid little festivity. Steph and I felt like real adults because instead of wearing dresses we went with the whole pants and heels look, which obviously is a thing that only adults do.
After we made a gracious exit from the festivity we went to the homecoming bonfire on campus, that was really exciting.
I was very far away for this picture so just know the fire is much larger than it looks.
After the bonfire we went to the bookstore to buy some shirts and we even got free hot chocolate. It was very HOT hot chocolate and very watered down... but it was free so I can't complain.

Afterwards my family went back to my house to hang out for a little bit. We started to watch Bring it On (the first one, which is the only good one) and Caroline came to join us. Eventually my family left except for McKenzie and Avery who were staying the night at my house. Once they left the real fun began, when the dance party started. It was a rather interesting night because Avery LOVED Caroline, which is interesting because Avery is usually not good with new people and doesn't give them the time of day. But Caroline could dance and lift Avery up and she wouldn't even complain for a second. It was concluded that Avery liked her so much because she was blonde just like her.

Eventually Caroline left and we all went to sleep. Avery really wanted to watch a show so I showed her Lizzie McGuire (which was my all time favorite show when I was kid) and she took quite the liking to it, and that in of itself makes for a satisfying night for me.

Saturday
In the morning my family (except my Dad) and Steph went to La Encantada so I could go the the Mac store to get my battery replaced in my phone. It turns out that my phone only had 20% battery capacity which makes sense why I had to constantly be charging my phone and that it when it died it would take years to turn back on. The best part was that I got my battery changed for free and when we were browsing around the mall we got complimentary pumpkin cupcakes and a glass bottle of olive oil.

After that adventure we went to McDonalds, dropped Rory and EJ off, and went to Marshalls. My dad was also super cool and while we were doing all these shopping adventures he went and got the oil changed in my car.

Around 2 EVERYONE (and by everyone I mean my immediate family, my Dads mom and her husband, my Dads dad and his brother, Steph and Lauren) met up for the homecoming parade. We were rather disappointed with the lack of candy throwing at this parade, but Avery did score with some goodies because she is cute unlike the rest of us.

We attempted to get a picture of at least some of the family

Then EJ, Kenzie, Lauren and I broke off from my family to go tailgating, then they headed over to the game while I waited for one of my students to show up and the we headed over as well.

The first quarter was a little ridiculous but the rest of the game was very fun and we won so that always makes for a goof game.

After the game there was a crazy amount of people at my house all hanging out for awhile and then everyone left and we all went to sleep, and boy was I ready to sleep after a very busy and long day.

Sunday
Today my family left but before we had breakfast to celebrate my Moms birthday a couple days late.
After they left I went to go take Lauren's graduation pictures and that was super fun and you will all see them very soon!
