End of summer... in Mesa

Wednesday August 20th, 2014 was my final day in Mesa for the summer. To celebrate me leaving, or more-so celebrate a fabulous summer concluding, Zach and I partied all day... well not half of the day.

For lunch we went to our most visited restaurant Native New Yorker for the boneless wing night and to play our final buzztime trivia game for the summer. Due to some technical difficulties and Avery calling me from McKenzie's phone non-stop, it was not a fair game... Zach ended up winning between the two of us... but you can't really count it as a win when you don't even complete a whole game.

Our next to-do was to go to Zach's to watch The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (which he bought for me as a going away present, along with one of my favorite candies: bottlecaps) and to chill with his fantastic family who I love dearly.

We then ordered some pizza (Papa Johns in case you were wondering) while I watched Big Brother (one of my all time favorite TV shows, Zach is always nice and will suffer through it for me). If you don't watch Big Brother and love to watch people trapped inside of a house for a couple months, I highly recommend.
So after Big Brother was over it was time for us to prepare for the ALS ice bucket challenge (we were challenged by our homie Trev the night prior). We had to go to my house so I could change into more comfortable clothing, I didn't even realize it but Zach and I ended up matching so Avery took a picture... or attempted to...
We then went back to his house to snapchat (clearly important in the process of preparation)

Then we finally filled up the buckets and completed the challenge. I think my favorite part was Zach's Dad at the end of the video on the balcony, he's a real cool cat.
Here's the video:

Special thanks to Scott for recording & Jonah, Pam, and Thane for dumping water on us.

After changing into dry clothes we concluded our night with a trip to Sonic with McKenzie.
I'm pretty much the worst person at goodbyes in the history of ever, and I certainly did not magically become better last night.
It really was a super fantastic summer and although I'm sad to leave, I'm very excited to be back in Tucson with all the homies.
