Blue Skies & Sunshine

Well it's monsoon season in the valley and I swear my house has a force field around it. I see all these posts about how it's down pouring in places that honestly are not too far from my house, while my house MAYBE gets some sprinkling. It's a shame because I really love the rain.

I am mostly posting just because we are inching towards the end of July and I haven't updated in a little while. My life hasn't been extremely epic this month, because I am one of the few unfortunate people in Arizona who do not escape the heat in July. Nonetheless here are a few things that have happened.

  1. Work
    • Friday July 11th Krispy Kreme celebrated its 77th birthday so in order to celebrate we had a wicked awesome deal where if you buy a dozen doughnuts you get a dozen original glazed for only 77 cents. This was the third birthday I celebrated with Krispy Kreme and as per tradition I worked the drive thru bright and early at 5 am all the way until 2 pm. Honestly, it wasn't that unbearable in the morning shift but I heard the night shift was awful because they ran out of all doughnuts with the exception of the original glazed. Must have been madness. I also worked processing (decorating/filling the doughnuts) the next morning and had to catch up from how busy the previous day was, needless to say it was a crazy weekend.
    • Random note about work. If any of you are coffee drinkers and like to order coffee at Krispy Kreme, PLEASE for the love of all things good and holy know the difference between an ICED COFFEE and an ICED LATTE/MOCHA, and then don't get frustrated with me when I try to clarify your order and then I give you what you ordered and it's not what you wanted. Iced Coffee= our regular coffee poured over ice. Iced latte/mocha= espresso, milk, flavor, ice.
  2. 6 month extravaganza
    • Zach and I have officially been dating 6 months as of the 15th! Woooooh parrrrttttttyyy fun! We went to native new yorker because it was 35 cent wing day and I introduced Zach to the buzz time trivia game they have there. I take pride in the fact that I beat Zach in trivia (and then again on Saturday 3 rounds in a row). I am trivia queen.... even though in all honesty whenever I played buzz time in Tucson I was not particularly good at it.
    • Oh Zach got his license (finally) and to celebrate I make him drive me around everywhere. I don't know which of us driving is cooler, me driving in my trail blazer or him in his mini van.
  3. Dentistry
    • I had another dentist appointment to get my root canal filled and to (wait for it (insert drum roll)) to get my very last baby tooth extracted. I know what you all are thinking... what the freaking heck Sydney you are 18 years old and just lost all your baby teeth? Well yes it is true. I was honestly kind of sad to part with it because it had such a beautifully ghetto silver cap on it, and now I have a gap there... but the big girl tooth is growing swiftly and painfully FUN.
  4. Friendaversary
    • The third week in August will be mine and Sadie's fourth friendaversary week. If you followed either of on any social media you SHOULD be aware that Sadie and I take great pride in our friendship and very much like to celebrate it for an extended week. Well with Sadie on a mission it's kind of difficult to celebrate together BUT that does not stop us. We both sent the other a friendaversary gift and I got mine from Sadie! I know it's like a month early but I had to open it anyway and I honestly cried reading all the letters. I am very lucky to have such an amazing friend like Sadie.
So that's a little into my life recently. School starts in a little over a month and I am getting more and more excited to come back to Tucson because honestly... Mesa is getting a little bit boring.
