The roomies and I went to go play murder in the dark at the Linden Building (a super creepy church building that my brothers' ward meets at). This was the first time I had every played murder in the dark so I was pretty stoked.
As we were waiting for everyone to arrive in order to start the game Steph and I started to do "Avery yoga" (which is just Avery's intense/crazy version of yoga, if that was not already clear from the title Avery Yoga) and eventually we had people join in with us, so of course we had to take a picture.
Eventually we had a good amount of people present so we started the game. I just want to let everyone know that I am probably the worst player at this game, I was killed every single round. Here are how my deaths came about in the four rounds I played
1: Death by Ali. I was walking with my roomies and Ali killed them off and was about to kill me so I was backing up away from her yelling "body body" to try and get people to come but I ended up tripping over Stephs dead body, landed on my hands and did some crazy damage to my wrist (nothing broken or sprained it just hurt like crazy, but it's better now). Just as I was falling down Ali killed me.
2: Death by Diana. I was hiding in a room for a solid 10 minutes, I thought I would be able to get out of that round without being killed... but then of course in comes the murderer... so instead of running I'm just like "are you going to kill me" and she's like "yeah" so I just let her do so. I laid in the room for a solid 5 minutes to let her get away so she wouldn't get caught... I realized that no one would find me in the room so I crawled out to the doorway and sure enough someone found me dead in a matter of 10 seconds. Being dead is no fun because you're out of the game so I decided to spice it up for myself and start spazzing out while everyone was trying to decide who the murderer was.
3: Death by Michael pt 1. I decided not to hide in a room this round since it clearly didn't work out for me in the last round, so I just decided to walk around. I was feeling adventurous so I decided to walk alone (worst mistake)... maybe 5 minutes into the game I turn a corner and there Michael is about to kill me. Again, I just let it happen without throwing a big fuss. The most confusing part of this round was when no one gathered around me to figure out who the murderer was. See how the game works is when someone finds someone dead on the floor they yell "body" and everyone is supposed to come to the crime scene and discuss who they think the murderer was. Well no one gathered around me they were all around the corner and down the hallway so I had to dead crawl to them. So inconsiderate.4: Death by Michael pt 2. So in the last round I learned my lesson of not walking alone. Which turned out good at first because I was not the first person dead because I hung around with Ali and Ryan hiding on the stage so no one could find us. After the first murder and discussion of who the murderer is Ryan and I went to go hide in the elders quorum room which is a back room that many people might not know are present. Well Michael found us in there and killed us. The one time someone actually came to mine and Ryans rescue (thank you Rex) Michael killed them too. So no one actually ended up finding out bodies in that room even though we were banging on the piano and everything.
So yeah, moral of the story I was born to be a dead person.
Thursday was dead day, so no classes! I decided to be productive on dead day and write my final essay for my english class that was due the next day, so I went to the library/institute to do so.
At 1 I had a work meeting and then at 2 Steph and I went to get lunch from Wendy's and then went to help Lauren set up for the spring formal.
Our first job at the set up was to spray paint the bottles that would be used as decoration for the dance. We may have enjoyed the task too much.
We then helped with some of the decorations inside and played keep it up with the balloons
Eventually we left that party and I went back to the institute to do some finalizing touches to my essay and turned it in.
Later that night Steph and I went to Bert's to play some rock band, because who studies on dead day anyway. My hurt wrist was not much of an aid for this game so I really only did well when I was the one singing.
When were got bored of rock band it was almost time for the free pancake "breakfast" that was happening on campus so we went to bear down kitchen to grub.
Our school is pretty sweet, not only did we get free pancakes and sausages we also got free blue books and scantrons for our finals... wooooooh party!
On Friday, Steph AB and I went to go sell our textbooks at the school and made some pretty good money, not good in comparison to what I paid for the textbooks initally but good because I got more than $5 (the guaranteed amount) for most of them.
After selling the text books I went to the institute to work on my end of the year video/slideshow for my roomies with all our fun adventures documented in them. I ended up staying at the institute for a while, I helped people make blogs, played some pool, went to a missionary lesson, got my backpack "turtled" and yknow just chilled. Steph came to pick me up at one point, we went to a sandwich place called baggins and then we went shopping with Bert and EJ so we could get a bowtie for Bert for the dance that was happening that night.
After successfully finding a bowtie at JCPenney we were driving back home when we stopped at a light and I looked over to my right and saw a guy with a 12 pack of baja blast strapped to the back of his bike. I just about had a heart attack and started screaming and Steph telling her to look (she thought I was telling her to look at a dead animal on the road so it took awhile to actually get her to look). Then Steph rolled down the window for me so I could yell at him and ask him where he got it (he probably thought we were crazy). When he told us it was at the target that was just right behind us we quickly went back and got the last 12 pack they had! It was a very precious moment in my life.
When we were done with that amazing adventure it was time for me to start prepping for the dance myself.
Around 7:30 ish Ryan came to pick me up, and of course we had to take pictures. Unfortunately Ryan and I do not know how to take a normal picture together but the photos turned out good anyway. Oh and Ryan was kind enough to get a picture of me and my roomies AKA the women in black
After taking photos Ryan took me to dinner at chipotle (yes, the third time in this week, but hey I aint complaining CHIPOTLE IS MAH LIIIIFE.
After dinner we arrived fashionably late to the dance, hit up the mocktails and got ready to party!
The dance was a blasting time with all my friends, we really know how to party. Oh& Joren (one of the students I work with) came to the dance too! He is one of the greatest dancers I have ever met and was seriously such a hoot.
So side story, some of you may know that Joren considers himself a vampire, and is very good at casting controlling spells on people. I didn't want spells to be casted upon me so I told him one day that I was a werewolf and that his powers don't work on me. Well flash forward a little bit Joren and I decided that there needed to be a full on vampire-werewolf battle, so we started to recruit people. Joren claimed all my roommates to be on my team and he only let me have Taylor and Ryan on my team. Well the battle ended up being a dance battle at the dance... although no one was declared a winner, I think the werewolves came out on top.
So yeah, the dance was a ball and Ryan was a fantastic date and was able to keep up with all my craziness.
It was a really fantastic night and great last party with all my institute buds! Everyone looked so adorable in their 1920s outfits. Mormons really know how to party let me tell ya!
Only a few more days left in Tucson and I'm trying to live it up so Steph, AB and I are about to go go-karting! Have a fantastic Saturday everyone!
