Easter Weekend

My weekend started Thursday night since all of my Friday classes were cancelled and I didn't have to work!
Around 7 ish Lauren drove me, Aubrey Packer and Rachel Monroe all to the valley so we could party with our families. The car ride was super fun and cool because I don't talk to Rachel and Aubrey everyday like I do my roomies! I learned that Rachel is in my home stake, which is crazy, AND she is in Parkers ward. What a small world it is. Since Aubrey lives in Phoenix and driving there is a bit out of the way her Dad picked her up from the Gilbert Temple, so we had a nice looking detour.
Once I was dropped off at my house I had a very unusual experience with Avery. Normally when I come home she is super excited to see me and runs to hug me, but not this time. Avery got the flu earlier that week and didn't want to interact with anyone but Mom. Since my welcome was not so warm from Avery I went to hang out with Zach after he got off work, but I've noticed a trend when I hang out with people late at night I will inevitably fall asleep on their couch, so I'm not sure how fun it is for everyone else to watch me sleep.

On Friday my mom, Kenzie, Avery and I had a "girls day". The day started off with us going to see the disney nature movie Bears. I guess Avery has been obsessing over it for some time so she was pretty excited to see it, apparently too excited though because she was sleeping through the majority of it. I had never seen any of the disney nature movies but I think it is so fascinating that people are able to get footage of animals in their natural habitat doing there thing, it's absolutely amazing. After we saw bears we came back to the house to decorate some eggs. We all changed our shirts so we wouldn't get our nice ones dyed, and we all decided that we were going to wear our twilight shirts... What's an easter decorating party without themed t-shirts? Nothing.

After we decorated our eggs and took a little siesta I wanted to go to the easter pageant and everyone agreed to come along.  I've lived in Arizona for about 10 years and there has never been a year that I missed the pageant, and I wasn't going to let my streak end just because I moved to Tucson and could no longer go for mutual. As usual the pageant was awesome, the bathroom lines were ridiculous and the stalls are uncomfortable because they don't lock.

Saturday started too early for me. It was the day of the ward easter egg hunt and since my mother is the young womens president she had to be there at 7:30 am. And of course there was some last minute food pick ups that had to be done and I was the designated picker upper, so I too had to be awake before 7:30. Usually easter egg hunts are super entertaining with Avery, but she was so grumpy from her sickness that she really didn't want to do anything, she even refused to smile for any pictures. The only time she got excited was when I lifted her up to get eggs out of trees

She's just so unimpressed

After the egg hunt Kenzie and I went to Little Caesars because I was craving pizza and then we went to QT to reward her for coming with me. I ended up eating 3/4 of that pizza, and that ended up being the last thing I ate all weekend (but more on that later).
Later I went to go hang out with Keaton but I had to pick him up at the san tan mall. Usually that's not such a big deal, except on this particular day the 202 became my bitter enemy. Here was my driving experience. I was on elliot trying to get onto the 202 (202 towards power road) but the ramp was closed so I had to go the opposite direction on the 202 and I exited onto Guadalupe so I could just turn around and go the direction I originally wanted to go.. Apparently there was a solid reason for the ramp to be closed because once on the 202 everyone had to exit onto Hawes (that exit in itself took a solid 15 minutes). So that was a frustrating detour because I now had to take roads in order to get to the mall instead of using the free way. But all is well, I did make it to the mall and I was able to pick up Keaton.
After I picked him up we took a short trip to wal mart to buy some swedish fish for my Dad before we went to go pick up Zach from work. Zach was such a doll when we picked him up too because he brought us free bahama bucks.
So after we picked Zach up and he changed out of his work clothes the three of us went bowling. Zach claimed he is super good at bowling, and so did Keaton, but I know full well that I am a horrible bowler so I didn't talk myself up at all. Apparently not talking myself benefited me because in the first game I was actually doing really well, and the boys... not so much. By the end of the game they caught up to me though and I ended up coming in second, but not too far second. The other games my hands were slowly giving out on me so my skills went down the drain. Keaton and Zach were doing great though. I ended up losing the two other games to both of them, but I didn't lose horribly so I take pride in that.
After bowling we went to Albertsons to buy some Jones soda and then to taco bell to feed Keatons obsession with that place. Eventually Keaton had to leave us for a super fancy date, so we walked him to the house in which the date was taking place, and then walked back to Zachs house... and that is when my health started going down the drain.
(WARNING: If you don't like reading about sick people I suggest you stop reading now)
When we got back to Zachs house I really wasnt feeling top notch, but I wasn't so miserable that I needed to go home quite yet... probably should have though when even his mom pointed out that I looked a little off... After laying on his couch for a little while trying to control my insides I decided I needed to go... Just in time too because as soon as I got to my truck, everything let loose... throw up everywhere. Super classy, I know, throwing up in your boyfriends front yard. Luckily, Zach is super awesome and so is his family, after a few minutes of vomiting he came outside with a water bottle and a bucket for me and told me that his family would drive me home. I was super embarrassed but they were so nice, they're definitely rockstars.
Once I arrived at my house, my fabulous mother helped me feel a little bit better with her cure-alls (garlic pills and ginger ale) and then I decided to get some rest hoping that I didn't catch what Avery had, and that maybe I just ate something bad. Unfortunately throughout the whole night I was restless, I kept having to make lovely trips to the bathroom half asleep and then I would find myself sleeping in the most random places.
What a great way to start easter right? Unfortunately I was not well enough to go to church, and I was actually pretty bummed about that because my Dad was speaking. But before everyone else went to church my Dad and EJ were able to give me a blessing... right after the blessing I threw up again but I didn't again for the rest of the day. So instead of going to church I plopped myself on the couch and watched The Lorax. I was super bummed of how sick I was because I couldn't eat anything. The easter bunny is VERY generous in my house so it was a real struggle not to eat all the delicious candy he brought in my basket. What's even worse is that my mom made one of my favorite meals (tortellini and quiche) for dinner and I couldn't eat it. It was torture even looking at it so I just slept through dinner.
But no amount of sickness could stop me from participating in the family easter egg hunt. Although I was freezing, wrapped up in a princess blanket and looked miserable I ended up with $12 and A TON of candy and random trinkets.

After the two rounds of the egg hunt it was time for EJ, Rory and me to go back to Tucson. I was so worried we would have to stop every ten minutes with my lovely sickness but luckily we only had to stop once early on and then I slept the rest of the way there.
When I woke up this morning, I was super mad at myself because I missed my enrollment appointment so I didn't get into any of the classes I wanted, luckily I found some others but I'm hoping people will switch their schedules around so I can get back into the classes I originally wanted.
I was hoping I would be well enough to go to school and work today but I think I need one more day of nothing before I tackle the last few weeks of school.
