Friday
After going to one of my classes, devotional and dollar lunch Steph, Lauren, Ali, Rory, Jared and I made the trek to Gilbert to tour the brand new Gilbert temple! Once we got to Gilbert we met up with Steph & Lauren's friend Lindsay and my sister McKenzie so they could join us on the tour.
I don't think my typed words will do the temple justice, but it is seriously breath taking. I've watched the temple be built, considering it is only 10 minutes away from my Mesa home, I always thought the outside was so beautiful and intricate but oh boy the inside is seriously... magical. It's like a castle. If you haven't gone through the temple whether you're a member or not, I strongly encourage you to go, it is seriously heaven on earth.
I can't wait to be able to go inside and do baptisms in that temple and who knows maybe I will even get married there (wink wink)
After the temple I went back to my house to party with my homegirl Avery, at least until Zach got off work. When he got off work, we went to pick up McDonalds for my family, when we dropped off the food Avery probably said one of the funniest things I have ever heard her say... is it appropriate for a blog? Maybe not, but I'll tell you all anyway. So when Zach and I were about to leave McKenzie said something along the lines of "don't kiss too much" we walked out the door and then Avery added "AND NO SEX", everyone just started to crack up inside... I seriously I have no idea how this little 3 year old girl learns so much... I guess there is a down side to growing up with teenagers/adults. She really is a crack up though.
Saturday
At midnight Zach and I went over to Sadie's house to give her some gifts because IT WAS HER NINETEENTH BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! I have seriously been so excited about her birthday for the longest time now, if you know me and Sadie at all you know we go all out for birthdays.
Most of my Saturday morning was spent preparing for her awesome totally fantastic party, like making brownies and buying all sorts of party food-ish things. Then Sadie and I went to goodwill in the afternoon to go shopping for some skirts for her mission, and she totally scored some sweet skirts that were both 50%, she only spent like four dollars, she's going to be the cutest missionary ever. Then we went to Costco to buy pizza for the party because I am now a costco member, and nothing is more exciting than being able to go to costco all on your own.
At 6:30 the fam started to arrive for the party, we ate some pizza, drank some Jones soda, played a weird game on the computer and then headed out for the main event of the night... laser tagging! We got unlimited laser tag games, but I think we only played 3 from what I can remember, because the fam goes hard at laser tag... even though the majority of us aren't professional laser tag players (the exception being Zach). Sadie, Trev and I were the dream team, even though we didn't dominate we were a good team. Although I am revoking my title as laser tag queen it was still a blast playing laser tag with my favorite people.
After laser tagging we went back to my house to have a bonfire and roast some starbursts (a favorite of Sadies). At some point we decided we needed to take some pictures (it was a momentous time because every member of the fam was present to celebrate Sadie's birthday)
Then we all ate some brownies and ice cream and drank some rootbeer before we all had to hop back into my car to drive Keaton home so he could give Sadie his awesome birthday present of oranges. I usually bring people with me on the drive to Keatons because I usually drive him home pretty late and I need people to keep me awake, but apparently everyone was tuckered out from all the hardcore partying from earlier and all fell asleep on me, except Parker, he's got my back, and don't worry we all made it home safely!
It was honestly one of the greatest days ever and I am so happy I had the opportunity to celebrate my best friends birthday with my favorite people! Sadie is the bomb and deserves the best of parties so hopefully this was a rockin day for her too!
Sunday
I woke up bright at early (7 AM) to make my way back to Tucson. Steph is such a sweetheart and is always willing to meet my mom half way in Casa Grande so she doesn't have to drive all the way to Tucson.
We got back with plenty of time to spare before church. All my roommates had a meeting at the church an hour before church started and since I didn't want to walk to church all by myself I went early... and I learned a very important lesson, if the ward clerks see you sitting around the church early you WILL get asked to say a prayer in Sacrament meeting.
After church, I watched the most intense basketball game against Utah, but the Wildcats came out on top with their 20th win in a row, we remain number one and undefeated! It sure is great to be a wildcat, even when I lose my voice from screaming too much.
Now I am home, working on some homework, blogging, watching/listening to the grammys and I am soon going to tog to bed.
Goodnight to my lovely readers!
