On Friday after excessive homework and a 4,000 word (exactly) report for linguistics I was kidnapped by Steph, Lauren, Cody and Nathan to go to the hockey game... it was very similar to a kidnapping because I was riding in the trunk...
Apparently since we were playing ASU, student tickets were not available so I had to pay 10 bucks for a ticket, not cool. Unfortunately, we did not win but props to ASU i guess for being #1 in the nation. On the plus side, we did at least get two goals which meant we got a free hamburger from Wendys!
After we went to Wendys I went to EJs house for what I guess you could call a "bro night" with EJ, Matt and Taylor. According to Taylor I have become one of the bros. This bro night consisted of the beloved game of risk. Before the game started EJ and I made a trip to circle K to pick up some red bulls so we were awake and lively through the endless game that is Risk. Unfortunately, I am easily persuaded during the game and so I was played by everyone...I was not the first one dead though, in fact I came in 2nd. I had the bros cracking up though as my energy drink kicked in and I called all my soldiers "boys", which is apparently hilarious. The game lasted until about 2 in the morning, party hard.
Saturday rolls around. I started out my day by making cinnamon rolls in our freezing cold apartment.
Side note: I don't know if you all recall, but there was a time in 1320 where our AC did not work and we had to live in a 90º apartment. Well now, our heater does not work and we live in a 40º apartment
EJ also came over to do some laundry and we all hung out for a little bit in our pajamas.
Afterwards, Steph and Annabeth took me shopping to get my outfit for the dance. I was not completely satisfied with the dress I had so I felt the need to get a new one, and I was indeed successful getting a dress, a hedband and jewelry. Go me.
After shopping I went to the basketball game against UNLV with Taylor. It was the annual white out game and it was extremely intense... for the 45 minutes that I was there. We had to leave early to go to a baptism. But we did manage to get a picture of us matching. We both wore white shirts (obviously), gray pants and red shoes.
Although we did not stay the entire time, Arizona did pull through with a win and we are now ranked #1 in the nation!
Side note: During my students class today, his professor was giving us a piece of advice for when we win the national championship. He told us to bring breath freshener to the game because when his school won the national championship he kissed more girls at the end of that game than he has in his entire life. What a great guy. Kisses for everyone.
Taylor and I left the game at approximately 3:50... we both walked to our different apartments, changed and then he picked me up at 3:58 for the baptisms that started at 4. What can I say, we are speed demons. We got to the baptism during the opening song, right before the opening prayer.
The baptisms were for two totally awesome people! Mary and Kevin. Mary is the sweetest girl I have ever met and she always pretends to laugh at my jokes, which is the greatest thing anyone could ever do for me. She bore such a sweet testimony and I am so happy for her! Kevin had been a rockstar since day 1. I first met him at the halloween dance when he showed off to everyone his sweet dance moves. His testimony was awesome as well, you could really tell he just got things. They are both going to do amazing things in the church.
After the baptism, it was now dance prep time! Unfortunately, Laurens sickness reached its climax so she was unable to go to the dance but she didn't fail to make Steph, Annabeth and I feel gorgeous with her compliments.
We were discussing how it would be cold outside so we should bring jackets to keep us warm. Annabeths choice jacket was Ben Kevin.
The final look of Annabeth, me and Steph.
Once we had all picked up our dates (s/o to EJ for letting me use his car again) we went to BJs for dinner. We had to wait for about 30 minutes to get a table even though Steph attempted to reserve a table ahead of time. We were overall at BJs from 7-9. So we missed about 2 hours of the dance but that was alright because dinner was full of some interesting conversations.
Then Zac and I made our way to the dance. The dance was so. much. fun. If there was an award for the best dancers Zac and I would have won... or our entire group would've. It was so much fun to see everyone dressed all fancy partying their little hearts out. Unfortunately, pictures from the dance have not been posted yet so I will post those when I get them (cough cough Isaac cough cough).
After the dance I went to EJs once again for a Risk Night, but this time Natalie was there. I came a little late so I played on EJs team, and I think we did a pretty good job because we was spread pretty thin on the map and we managed to stay alive for many more rounds.
After the game Natalie and I headed back to my apartment to do some shut eye after a fun night of partying.
On Sunday I went to 3rd ward for the first time in about a month... I promise Im not less active I was just in too many different places. On Sunday night it was the Christmas devotional and during it, Annabeth felt inspired to recreate the nativity scene with Ben Kevin.
She truly is an artist!
I am super ready for this week. Wednesday is the last day of classes. Thursday is dead day (but I still have to work :( ). And then on Friday finals start... Time to bear down.
My driving factor is that as soon as I am done with finals my brother Rory will be coming home!
