STAY GOLD PONYBOY

Let's start this post off with how freaking amazing my roommates are! Because I believe birthdays should not be constrained to one day, they bought me gifts for an entire week leading up to my birthday!

All of my favorite things from my favorite roommates! I will keep day 7 a secret until I talk about my actual birthday festivities.
So I dyed my hair on Friday...
Nothing drastic, just a little darker.

Steph is a goddess for dying it for me
So somehow Saturday comes around... and it was a busy day.
First I went to the football game at noon.
Steph and I got free monsters from circle K.
We got UA colors of course!
Day games are pretty rough to sit through, not going to lie. So I left at half time. Which ended up being a good thing because we were winning when I left, and I didn't have to watch my school lose during the second half.
After I left we started to do some prep for my birthday party later that night.
Then Taylor came over so I could attempt to help him with his math homework and I got the best surprise ever! SADIE CAME TO TUCSON FOR MY BIRTHDAY (oh & Audrie and Kenzie too)! I was so surprised and so excited, seriously the greatest moment of my entire life. She even bought me presents... but not just any presents... the best presents ever: an awkward holiday family photos book, sour patch kids, orbit gum, pump it ups, and a dinosaur hat! By our birthday tradition she made me a giant shaped card... this years shape was a fanny pack!! If there was any object that would describe mine and Sadie's relationship, it would probably be a fanny pack.
This is me in my sick nasty fanny pack card from Sadie
Also note the totally awesome shirt that Taylor and Natalie got for me! It says "Challenged Accepted". If there were any two people that loved How I Met Your Mother as much as me, it would be those two love birds.
Then came my kick butt party... It was golden themed because it's my golden birthday! Here are few pictures from the night, the rest can be found on my facebook!

It was totally awesome, my roommates are seriously the greatest for throwing me the best birthday party ever full of games, dancing (even cage dancing), and karaoke! Thank you to everyone who came!

So on Sunday I went to Mesa to celebrate my birthday with my family & I invited Steph to come along too! When we got there we ate my favorite chicken enchiladas, then we opened presents and blew out my birthday candles, took a siesta and then played multiple trivia games. The teams for the trivia games were me and Steph (team 1995) against my Dad, my Mom, EJ, Kenzie, and Avery... The numbers seem completely fair right? The first game we played was continuous all plays on disney scene it. Steph and I slaughtered the other team at this one. The next game was Name That Tune 80s Edition... unfortunately team95 does not know 80s songs merely from the first note like my father and EJ do, so we did not win, but we did actually score a couple points which I am very proud of. The last trivia game was trivial pursuit, team95 also lost this one. All in all, it was very fun even though the Richardsons are far too competitive for our own good.

Here are some pictures from my trip to Mesa.
We all had a lot of fun with those obnoxious noise making party things

What you don't give your cheesecake weird looks too?

Forever 21 gift card and money!

A home t-shirt!

Francescas gift card!

My father and I love each other

new combat boots

I love my seesters

Special thanks to my family, Grandpa & Grandma McLeod, and my Great Grandma Hazel for all the amazing gifts and cards from this day!

After the party we headed back to Tucson. When midnight struck, Annabeth welcomed me into adulthood by throwing chocolates at me... how adult like of us. Then I went to sleep so I could be fully rested for the totally awesome day ahead of me.
I woke up, went to my two classes. During my anthropology class I did my first official adult act... I registered to vote! I was seriously so excited to register, no one really understands that. After I registered I texted my dad this (I call it: How to give your democrat father a heart attack)...

Then Steph bought me lunch at Chick Fil A (my favorite). We took our food back to the institute where I was showered with "happy birthdays". I was also got to cross something off my "bucketlist": get serenaded by a bearded man playing the ukelele. In other words, Marcus is bomb and played happy birthday on the ukelele and everyone sang to me.
Then I had to go to my last two classes (lame).
Side note: Apparently turning 16 in high school is the equivalent of turning 18 in college; one is not dateable until they turn the appropriate age.
But since I turned 18 yesterday I got to go on a date with Zac! We went to campus candy got delicious candies (obviously), made mountain dew floats (the usual) and watched Blades of Glory! But within our date I got the greatest surprise ever. After we went to campus candy we walked back to my apartment and this is what I walk in on...

I have been long awaiting for the present I would receive from Steph Luc.
For the past few weeks I have constantly heard how awesome my present is going to be, and Steph would send me snapchats of random parts of the present. I had not idea what it was going to be!
She got me
1: A giant panda
2: A red camera strap with my name on it
3: A T-shirt that says "Syd Rich Stay Gold" on it (yes, the panda is also wearing that shirt)
4: A shirt from her and Taylors company
5: a sick nasty bracelet
6: FOUR CASES OF DIFFERENT FLAVORS OF MOUNTAIN DEW
Seriously I love her so much, and I am so sad that she is leaving me in December and growing up and stuff.

Then later I went to FHE and I got a birthday doughnut from my "dad" Will, who even bought candles for me to blow out, and yes there were 18 candles on one doughnut. Mark Wager also got me a mountain dew which he searched an hour for, which makes it that much better!
Also at FHE, my BFF Taylor gave me what I guess you could call birthday spins... he just picked me up and spun me around a million times until we fell onto a couch... He is one crazy kid but I love him.
Oh also, not only did Steph make a Syd Rich for me and the panda, but also Steph, Taylor, Zac and EJ... we got a group picture without EJ at FHE.
After FHE the 1320 beezies and I went to BJs for my birthday dinner! Annabeth is the bomb diggity and bought my dinner for me and got me what I really wanted for my birthday... A RED CAR. Of course it was a toy car, but it's really the thought that counts right? Steph wrote me a beautiful card that ALMOST made me cry (sorry Steph), and Laurens card is TBA, the suspense is really killing me. I also got my day 7 gift from my roomies! And day 7 was the best gift of all! They got me a striped sweater that I fell in love with at Old Navy and a bag full of chocolates! They are seriously the greatest, I don't know how I got so lucky to live with these girls but I am so grateful for them, they made my birthday absolutely unforgettable, a birthday that I will tell my future family about for sure!

After dinner Cody Pederson (my home teacher) came over and brought me a gift, mountain dew (of course) and a delicious Toblerone bar, and my brother got me an itunes card!

It was seriously the greatest birthday ever! I am so grateful for all my friends and family that helped to celebrate it with me. Also super grateful for all the birthday shout outs on twitter, facebook and instagram, especially from my best friends in Mesa, even though they couldn't celebrate with me in person we still had our social networks to celebrate with! I have no clue what I am going to do with all this mountain dew though...
