So the weekend started on Friday, with my family arriving a little after I got out of my weather class. Immediately after they arrived my father and mother left to go to some sort of fraternity meeting/party/celebration for my dad, and left Avery and McKenzie with me to party. First, we went to the mall with Steph and Annabeth to pick up Steph's paycheck and to shop for gold clothes for my upcoming birthday party. After the mall, Steph, Avery and I went to Taco Bell to do the usual grubbing before we went to an Ice Cats game. One would think that a three year old would not have to pay to get into a hockey game... but they do... in fact even a two year old has to pay (I know this because I told the cashier lady that Avery was two instead of three... maybe that was my punishment for lying). Anyway, the ice cats game was awesome, WAY better than the last one I went to. We won 3-2, it was pretty intense even though there were quite the lack of fights.
Throughout the whole night, Avery would constantly tell us to take our hoods off and on... Steph did not have a hood so she just pulled her entire sweater over her head.
After the hockey game we came back to the apartment to spend a little time with my parents before they left for the hotel. After they left Zac came over to hang out and watch movies while Steph went to pick her mom up from the airport.
So Saturday morning rolls around and it was going to be a jam packed fun filled day.
Here is my mother and Avery in their fabulous U of A gear.
First thing on our list of to-dos was to take pictures of EJ for his graduation announcement... as every Richardson photoshoot goes, everyone got in on the pictures and eventually Ej wasn't even in them.
After many more photos were taken, we headed over to the union, met up with my extended family before they ran off to get free stuff, and then went out to lunch.
On our walk towards Pei Wei McKenzie decided to take many interesting photos of everyone.
At Pei Wei, in my efforts to ask a guy to the winter formal, I was having a freak out... and it looked a little something like this...
What isn't pictured is me laying across the entire bench trying to figure out what to do.
Luckily, all went well and Zac is indeed my date to the dance.
After lunch, most of the group went back to the apartment for a little siesta while the mother, McKenzie, Avery and I did a little shopping on University. We went into American Apparel and this is what we found Avery doing...
What makes this even more hilarious is that we saw a real dog earlier in the day and she was absolutely terrified of it.
Then we went back to the apartment, rested for a while longer and then headed to campus to watch the homecoming parade.
Although the floats were not nearly as cool as they had been in the past, we did get to see Gabby Giffords in the parade and someone who is just as cool... Soukey!
After the parade Steph, EJ, Taylor, Matt, McKenzie, and I all headed toward the stadium so we could get Kenzie a ticket so she could experience the zonazoo (all thanks to Taylor for knowing how the process works). Unfortunately the parents did not have any way of getting into the apartment so Steph, Matt and I met my father at the near circle K in order to give them a set of keys. But it was all worth it because circle K was giving out cups of monsters... not that any of us didn't already have enough energy.
When we finally got into the area to wait to go into the game, we were given bam bams... this is when the energy really started to kick in when people started to see Steph and my true colors... we had a little too much fun cracking jokes about them.
The game experience was super fun, as they usually are... but the game itself was not very fun... it was the first home game that we lost and it was very sad... at least in the 4th quarter... everyone was getting upset... especially Taylor who I am pretty sure destroyed 20 bam bams out of anger.
This was also Soukeys first football game so naturally we had to do our pose in a picture.
After the game we did the usual trek back to the apartment... except this time Taylor and I sped walk home.. and I don't think I have ever walked so quickly in my entire life... it was olympic status I'm telling ya. Then we hung out with my family for a little bit and then we all retired to our beds after a long day of super awesome eventfulness.
Sunday was the last day with my family so I spent most of the day with them until they left, skipped church and everything. One of the most eventful things that happened on Sunday is that Avery finally accepted Taylor as a friend!
He was also the only person that Avery would not shoot with the nerf gun.
Later that night we had an interesting game night with Annabeth, Taylor, Zac, EJ and Matt... we played the game of things.... and all I can say was that it was interesting. Then we all watched Zoolander, and discovered that Matt is the worst person to watch movies with... he says the line like 5 minutes before it happens... ugh that kid.
Monday we had no school, but I had to wake up at 6 am to register for classes... but I suck and ended up waking up at 7. Fortunately I still got all of the classes I wanted, just at different times, but I am okay with that. After registering I took a shower and then went back to bed... and didn't wake up until Taylor and EJ were outside my door calling me so they could do laundry... I obviously hadn't gotten ready or anything... I was described as a hot mess... oh well... they're my brothers I'm not trying to impress them.
The rest of the day I just lounged around and hung out with Zac and Steph... and even had an interesting dance party... and by that I mean Steph had an interesting dance party in an interesting outfit. Then we went to FHE, came back watched the Odd Life of Timothy Green and then crashed.
Today marks the first day of my birthday week, and I have the best roommates in the world. I come home from an odd day of work to the greatest thing in the whole world...
COSTCO POPPYSEED MUFFINS!!!!
I was so excited... I cried.
What a great way to start the last week of my adolescence
