Oh You Fancy

Monday October 17
I definitely wasn't feeling too hot on Monday. I don't think that I have ever been so stressed out that I actually made myself sick... but this was the case for most of last weekend and especially on Monday. Luckily my capstone was cancelled so I could go home and relax. Kenzie and Deezy were watching the Lion King when I got home, which was quite the pleasant surprise and made me forget about my life for a little bit.
I was hoping that I would be able to get myself back together for my night class, but I figured it would probably be best for my sanity that I just skipped class. Luckily, my professor is pretty chill so he was okay with my decision.
At night I was planning on going on the walk again with Kenzie, Deezy, Jenny and Abby, but FHE/recommend interviews went really late and my body was not feeling it at all, so I just opted out and went to sleep instead.
10/10 do not recommend getting stress sick.

Tuesday October 18
Tuesday was crazy!
I was starting to feel a little bit better but wasn't 100%. I was able to eat food at dollar lunch which really boosted my spirits. My RPA class was cancelled all week for us to prepare for our in-depth assignments... so being a normal college student I didn't work on it at all and just went home instead.
I got a nice surprise knock on my door from Granny and Master coming to visit. They are just the greatest and took me and McKenzie grocery shopping!
After their visit Kenzie, Jenny, Deezy and I started our endeavor on the final 5-mile way day. On Sunday Deezy and I planned that if he made it to the third day we would do our 5-mile walk starting at Twirls (formerly known as U Swirl) so we could end up there and eat some delicious sorbet to celebrate the accomplishment. Turns out walking from Twirls to my house and back to Twirls is exactly 5 miles, it was perfect. And we did it everyone... well mostly Kenzie, Jenny and Deezy did it because they did the walk for all three days.... but mostly Deezy because he is the one with the less than perfect knee! That sorbet was so delicious and so worth it.
Right after our celebratory Twirls trip I went straight to the newsroom for our first workshop of the semester (more than halfway through the semester... we rock) with Mike Christy! Mike is the king of kings and talked to us about sports photography. It was a great workshop, and I was so happy he took the time out of being the state's greatest photographer to come talk to us low life wildcat photogs.

After the workshop I hurried home for the Chipotle Gala!
You may recall over the summer Steph and I (but mostly Steph) participated in Chiptopia, which entailed going to Chipotle 11 times in a month for three months. Being the Chipotle obsessed people that we are, of course we were able to accomplish the goal. With this accomplishment we won free catering for twenty people. The only logical thing to do with that prize was to have a Chipotle Gala in which 20 people were invited to the fanciest of dinners at 1320 Beezies. It was a fancy event, and our friends came ready for the occasion. There was one part of the night which was clearly the stand out part but I have been sworn to secrecy about it and I can post no photos without getting shot, but just know it was hilarious and amazing and weird. But the second best part of the night was watching Deezus' solo dance party after a lot of people left the party

Galas are a very serious matter

Very serious indeed

The fellas

The ladies

McJeezus back at it again. I wish I could make a museum out of all the strange things these kids do together.

The beezies

Abby and Andrew stayed for a while for the after party and then all of a sudden it was midnight and....
Wednesday October 19
IT WAS JENNY JENNIFER ARANDA'S BIRTHDAY! Not JUST her birthday, but her GOLDEN birthday.
After singing her happy birthday I went straight to sleep.

Once again my class was cancelled on Wednesday so I got to go home early. I spent about an hour cranking out my article for my capstone class (it's just a mess and the source of like 70% of my stress). Then Kenzie and Steph got home and we started the preparations for Jenny's birthday! Jenny says a lot of crazy funny things (if you knew her at all, then you would know this). So it was Kenzie's idea to put her phrases all over the wall:
While we waited for her to come home we watched If I Stay (I still cry at certain parts, but Steph amazingly held herself together).
Jenny was very happy when she came home to it so it was a total success. I didn't get a picture of her facial reaction, but here is her back:

After she came home I went on a hunt for the new mango mountain dew that Cody Pederson so kindly told me about. It's really good! I love mango flavor a tooon. It doesn't really have that normal mountain dew taste, but it's still very delicious.

I started watching the debate with Kenzie, Deezy and Jenny but then I had Deezy drive me to my budget meeting at the Wildcat. The Editor-In-Chief and the Managing editor of the Wildcat were going to a conference in DC so there was a little change in leadership for the production on Thursday. With a change in leadership these meetings can get quite hectic and unorganized, but we rocked it. Probably the most efficient budget I have ever been to.

Right after budget and once the debate was over Steph, Kenzie, Jenny, Deezy, Andy and myself went to the Cheesecake Factory for Jenny's birthday dinner!
Holy crap I am just so happy to have Jenny as a roommate. She is the comic relief of the 1320 Beezies sit com if there ever was one. She's always doing something that makes someone laugh, she can instantly put me in a good mood with her dance parties in her sweat suit. She's super smart, opinionated and confident in who she is. I am so happy that her Dad made her go to the institute one day to find some potential roommates. She's the best!
Steph got Jenny this birthday plate and told the waitress that Jenny can't eat a dessert without it... it was hilarious

Thursday October 20
Thursday I got to work with Tristan! He was kind of funny in that he did not want to work with me at all. This was our phone conversation:
Sydney: Hey Tristan, this is Sydney! I am going to be working with you this morning, where should I meet you?
Tristan: I thought I was supposed to meet Sarah
Sydney: Nope, you'll be with me today!
Tristan: I just don't know how I feel about that...

It was pretty funny in the moment. Tristan does actually like me, despite not wanting to hang out with me.

Once again my RPA class was cancelled for in-depth prep.... once again I did not work on it. Instead I went to the Wildcat for production. Brenna and Chastity were pretty much running the show, and it was so awesome. I got done relatively early, but Brett said he was buying pizza for everyone so I decided to stick around for a couple more hours because pizza is just so important to me. Alex was in the newsroom working on his portfolio so he kept me entertained and sane while being in the newsroom for that long. It was all worth it when the pizza came. I made a giant circle of pizzas for the greatest snapchat ever but by the time I was done with the snapchat almost the entire pepperoni pizza was gone (and if you know me at all you know how heart breaking this must have been for me).

Right after I ate my pizza, I went home and then assembled a team (Kenzie, Steph, Jenny, Deezy and Rudy) to go to Brittany's house for Thursday cookies and hot tubs. This weeks featured cookie was pumpkin chocolate chip in lieu of Halloween. While the cookies were in the oven we all went in the hot tub. I kept one hand outside of the tub at all time to keep dry so I could be prepared for a cookie to enter my hand at any given moment, but Harrison sabotaged me so much and kept getting my hand wet. Don't worry though everyone, it was very windy so my hand was indeed dry when the cookies were finally ready and the cookies were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Nothing gets better than pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.

I also got to meet Brittany's grandma's tortoise. She is a little cutie.

Friday October 21
AVERY'S SIXTH BIRTHDAY!!!!
After work and free lunch Kara came over to watch Grey's Anatomy. I had to cut the party a little short because I needed to go to the Wildcat to conduct some interviews with potential new photographers.
After the interviews I picked up McKenzie then we started on our way to Mesa for Avery's birthday party! While we were on the 10 my car started to slow down and lock up, and so I turned exited and pulled over to the side of the road. Turns out the car was overheating. I called my Dad to figure out what to do. He told me to wait for the car to cool down completely and then to add coolant to the car. While we were waiting for the car to cool down a beautiful angel man named Darin Z came to the rescue and helped us better diagnose the problem. Turns out that I didn't need to add any coolant to the car because it was quite full (thank goodness Darin came because I would have waited there for another half hour and then found out i didn't even need to any). He helped me figure out what the problem could be and then told me I was good to drive it back to my house, but that I would probably have to take it to a shop to get it properly diagnosed.
Luckily Steph and Jenny were also going up to the valley on Friday so we just hitched a ride with them. Because of all the car problems we weren't able to make it to Avery's party, but we definitely partied when we got there! We took her to Soda Rush and had an epic dance party there. Avery is full of good dance moves. I just can't believe my baby sister is six years old! She is still four years old to me but also acts like she is She's honestly the greatest Richardson to ever be born.

Later at night I went over to Sadie's for a little birthday party her and Parker were throwing for Trev (seriously so many birthdays in one week). We ate cake, we caught up and we played Taboo. It was a party fun time. This was actually my first time going to Sadie and Parker's new house and it's just so cute! I am going to live in their basement when I graduate college, it's already decided.

Saturday October 22
Rory and I left to go back to Tucson in the morning.
I spent pretty much the entire day at Dusk Music Festival with Sean, Brenna, and Nina to cover the event for the Wildcat. It was veeerrrryyyy long but it was also a ton of fun! It was really dead for like the first 3 hours of the festival. I felt bad for the first couple artists (especially Luna Aura) who virtually had no audience to perform for. But once the bigger names came on stage that place got craaaaazy. It was so much fun being in the pit and I am only slightly but really salty that Matt & Kim's crew didn't let any press into the pit. I was most excited for Matt & Kim so I was actually really bummed about it, but I fought my way to get some good angles. If you're a Matt & Kim, make it a special point in your life to go to one of their concerts. They are SO AMAZING and they sure do know how to hype up a crowd. Kim is really raunchy but it's also just so hilarious. So if you like giant beach balls, some sex jokes and A TON of dancing, you definitely need to see them.
Here are some of the photos I took of the day:

Please let it be known that I tweeted this photo and Matt & Kim favorited the tweet. I can die so happy now.
