Monday September 12
Monday was a normal day for the most part, besides the freaky weird rain that was happening. It was seriously down pouring when I got out of my 1 pm class and it was only partly cloudy. I don't think I should be able to see the sun when it rains, so it just weirded me out... but the sun does make drying off from the down pour a lot easier too.
I had all my regular work tasks, and all my regular classes. But I was able to get out of my night class quite early and make it to FHE half way through. Everyone was well into playing some crazy game that involved basketball and reading note cards, so I decided to sit out and do my Wildcat work, but then join back in with everyone once the game was finished. The best news ever is that Caroline is now officially moved back to Tucson, and she came to FHE with Ryan (who also just moved back to Tucson)! I am so excited to have her around again!
After FHE I came home to quite the unpleasant surprise from my roommates, and then I mozied my way to sleep.
Tuesday September 13
Tuesday was mine and Chase's first big struggle of the school year. Luckily he only hid from me in the bathroom for half an hour and then we were able to have a good time for the remaining 15 minutes we had together. He did play me a couple songs on the harmonica to make up for hiding from me for so long, so I can definitely forgive him. After I meet up with Chase on Tuesday's I go and hang out with Jake, who is one student who never fails to put a smile on my face. We spent our time talking about the iPhone 7 (because he is just as obsessed with apple as I am) and we updated our phone together.
Now let's just talk about how amazing this update is. I feel so sad for anyone without an iPhone. Sending lasers with messages is the best thing that has happened to me in this life. I can send gifs SO EASILY now instead of trying to search for them on giphy. I can react to people's messages, and I can send invisible messages. It was quite entertaining in the Naked Strippers group message watching everyone experiment with the new update. There is only one person who still hasn't updated his phone in the group chat, and my heart aches for him.
My RPA class was cancelled on Tuesday so I had tons of time for production at the Wildcat, which meant I could get out really early... except of course we had a big photo desk meeting about how all the photographers suck... haha just kidding, I love them all, but it was a stern meeting just about stepping up our game and taking care of the Wildcat's equipment. But I did still manage to get out around 8 pm, which is still relatively early.
When I got home I found Kara at my house because Steph was helping her take a quiz. I probably shouldn't play favorites in this group message, but Kara is easily one of my favorite new friends this year. She (along with Maddy of course) is my new source of information, and I love being in the know (I mean I am a journalism major...) so it's always good to have multiple sources.
Wednesday September 14
Chase had his first exam of the semester for his weather class on Wednesday. I worked with Chase in his music class last semester, and I figured out a strategy for making tests with him that would make tests difficult but doable if he studied. Apparently he is too good for that strategy no because after the first question he said "this is too easy," now I know to step up my game for the next test. He's one smart cookie.
Since he had a test we spent the rest of our time just hanging out and not doing any other school work, because he deserved it. I played pool with him at the institute. I beat him the first round (which did not make him very happy) and he beat me the second round because I shot the 8 ball in (that made him very happy). Then Kenzie came to play ping pong with Chase, and I have never seen someone quite so intense in the game of ping pong. When you play with Chase there are no rules. You get a point if you are the last person to hit the ball regardless of it being a fair hit. Chase ended up schooling McKenzie, and I had never laughed so hard in my life.
On Wednesday night the Beezies went to go to the Tucson Thrift Shop to scope out the 70s clothes there. I had found out from some photos turned in for the Wildcat that they have an entire section for "Groovy 70s Shirts" and then when we went there on Wednesday they had multiple 70s sections. It's pretty much a Beezie party heaven there... but it is very expensive, so I only suggest going there for inspiration and then shopping elsewhere.
Afterward we had another Naked Strippers event. Arizona Athletics sent out an email after the football game with a coupon for a free Cat's Combo from Cane's, so we got the crew together to bombard Canes. Unfortunately not everyone was able to make it, but we did add a non-stripper to the party (Jeremy). So the Naked Stripper of Cane's consisted of: me, Steph, Kenzie, Jenny, Andy, Harrison, Travis, Deezus, Abby, Kara and Brittany. Poor Diana can't eat gluten, so one of these days she will join us. Instead of pushing tables together like normal people, we all crowded into one of the corner booths in the restaurant. Everyone got a little bit closer that night including some accidental foot action.
I made everyone wait for everyone to get their food before we started eating so I could get this picture... even though pretty much everyone started eating. And apparently a lot of people were wondering how we got this photo... no it's not a really tall person taking the photo, I was standing on the bench and just snapped it.
Abby is the garbage lady of the group apparently
After the Cane's night everyone in the group message was sharing awkward photos from their past, and then this gem from Jenny popped up (I crack up literally every time I see it):
Thursday September 15
I woke up really early for work at 8:30...turns out since I requested last Thursday off to go to the border that I also got this Thursday off... I should really check my schedule more often, and not just assume my schedule is going to be the same thing every single week. Instead of going home and going back to sleep like a normal college student, I just hung out at the institute and worked on some of my homework, and ran a few errands for the Wildcat.
My RPA class was unfortunately not cancelled on Thursday and I once again fell asleep in the class. Having a class at 2 pm is easily the worst time to have a class. I would rather take a million 8 am than one 2 pm class. I just can't do it.
After I class I drove Kara to the Rec Center because I was on my way home, and then I went with Jenny and Kenzie to a missionary lesson. This was my first time going to a missionary lesson with Jenny because I am never around when she goes, so I was pretty stoked. Jeremy also joined us for the lesson to make it a real party.
On Thursday night I went to dinner at Illegal Pete's for Caroline's birthday! I am a chipotle purist, so this was my first time going to Illegal Pete's since it opened next to campus. The restaurant is from Colorado and is one of Caroline's favorites. It's pretty good but I am still #teamchipotle. I got to see Ali and Bryce at dinner and congratulate on the miniature human being inside Ali right now. I'm super excited for them.
After dinner a few people from the group (Caroline, Ryan, Megan, Stephen and another person whose name I do not know) went to Caroline's condo to go hot tubbin'/swimming. Caroline's condo is so fantastic, and has the greatest mural wallpaper in the world, and her pool and hot tub are magnificent. I already know I am going to be spending quite a bit of time at her complex this semester. Eventually the party died down a little bit and I drove Ryan home, only to find out that he lives in the back of a sketchy store.... this kids life gets more and more interesting every time I see him.
Friday September 16
After work in the morning I had my editors meeting at the Wildcat, and people actually showed up this week so we did indeed have a meeting. Afterwards I went to the free lunch at the institute... I swear I am going to be so sick of grilled cheese by the end of the semester, but not yet, it's still delicious. At the free lunch I learned about the slang for making out in Spanish, and I will never think of pineapples in the same way ever again... I also got to see what it would be like to have a Travy Stache, thanks to Snapchat dreams do come true:
After lunch Steph and I went to Safeway for some snacks because sometimes you make it through a whole week and you deserve some snacks. Then we went shopping with Kenzie for some more 70s clothes shopping since our party was only a week away. I was able to find the perfect shirt for the party, so now I have my entire outfit together, I just have to figure out what to do with my hair.
Later Deezus came over to watch Silver Linings Playbook with Kenzie, Steph and I joined in because it's an amazing movie. During the movie Steph plucked his eyebrows, and then all of a sudden Steph Plucks was born.
Travis came over a little bit later to watch Guardians of the Galaxy, but he also got his eyebrows plucked. He's also one of my favorite friends now because he chose Ben Kevin as his comfort during the process instead of one of the newer bears.
I introduced Deezus and Travis to Codenames before we watched Guardians of the Galaxy. Jenny, Kenzie and Deezus ended up beating Travis, Steph and I overall but I won the first round so that's enough success for me.
Andy saw all the fun we were having and he eventually came over too, but he did not get his eyebrows plucked. We did watch most of Guardian's of the Galaxy, but in between we discovered Deezus' tiny hands and that took a lot of attention away from the movie.
I think it's an unspoken rule that if Andy is in our house there is going to be a truth circle happening, so of course after the movie we had a truth circle. This time it was actually pretty good because there were good questions (thanks to Deezus). Also thanks to Deezus, the greatest prank was revealed to me. In high school for his friend's tv show/podcast thing, he did this prank where he went up to a bunch of random girls (who he didn't know) and pretended to be responding to their proposal for morp. It's hilarious, ask me to show it to you sometime.
This was once again another 3 am night at the Beezie household, and I am still in shock of the Beezies social game this year. We didn't even plan for people to be coming over (besides Deezus) and people just flocked to the party. I feel like I am finally doing college right haha.
Saturday September 17
I know I am doing college right because I magnificently was able to sleep in until 11 am on Saturday, I haven't been able to do that for a very long time. I woke up to like a thousand texts from people from the Wildcat trying to get cameras and lenses, so I had to quickly jump out of bed, throw on some clothes and some contacts and then I made my way over there to do my job.
Afterward I came back home to work on the photos for the next day, and then before I knew it my family was in town for the football game. My family +Steph and Jenny went to Canes for lunch (because it is of course socially acceptable to go twice in one week, especially when you aren't paying). We once again played Avery's rhyming and syllables game, which make no sense, but somehow they are still enjoyable.
After lunch my mom, Avery, Kenzie, Jenny, and myself went to Reid Park before we went to the game. I once again discovered that my fitness prime was when I was 8 years old, because that's when I was the queen of the monkey bars... and now it's just too hard. Some kid made fun of Jenny and I for not being able to go across the monkey bars... I retaliated by making the playground my castle, and made myself the queen (because I am a completely normal person). Avery got bored of me being the queen, so she took over after my 10 minute reign. Steph joined us during Avery's reign and struggled to get the password right, but with my help she was welcomed into the kingdom.
After playing at the park and becoming the queen of the world, we quickly went back home before going to line up for the football game. Jenny unfortunately does not have Zonazoo, so it was just Kenzie, Steph and I that went. We were later joined by Andy, Queston, Rory, Deezus, Caroline, Spencer, Emily, Lorin, Kara and Brittany to make for a rocking football game.
Steph almost made it to kick off before she decided she was too sick to stay for the game, but she did stay long enough to get in for the only picture I took that night.
I would say it was a very successful game because 1) we killed Hawaii 2) Andy came up with a new cheer which is probably the greatest cheer ever created and 3) my new reality show is in full force.
It was a very late game however so I was quite tired throughout the whole thing and the game just felt like the slowest moving game in the world. We were killing Hawaii so bad that I decided to leave at the beginning of the 4th quarter so I could make it home in time to publish photos of the game online.
Sunday September 18
9 AM church is killer when you become a real college student. But church was super exciting because 1) two members of the naked strippers were speaking, 2) Tiana was speaking and Dakota came to see her speak #toosweet. They all did amazing. 3) Abby taught the Relief Society lesson. So it was indeed a great day at church. And to top it all off there was a linger longer afterward. Can't get much better than that.
After Linger Longer Steph, Kenzie, Jenny, Spencer, Ryan and myself drove to Caroline's house for Ryan's birthday lunch (but also to celebrate my birthday being in two months... ha just kidding). We of course sang a crazy rendition of Happy Birthday to Ryan with all sorts of harmonies that were completely in tune, and then introduced him to the High School Musical Bad Lip Reading. What else could you possibly want from a birthday party?
After the lunch party we drove Ryan home to his sketchy house, and then made our way back to our house, but not without a stop to take a picture of Steph's slamming church outfit in front of a nice wall. We also found a wall that matched my dress, so of course a weird picture came from that.
The Beezies have been on this musical kick for quite some time now. If you are in the car with us it's almost guaranteed that Phantom and the Book of Mormon Musical are going to be hooked up to the aux. When we got home we watched Hairspray while working on homework and after Hairspray we started Grease Live (because Jenny hasn't seen it, that sinner). During Grease Live Kara brought over her giant bear from home to add to our bear collection. They're honestly better than couches:
We couldn't finish Grease Live though because Andy and Queston were hosting a game night. This was possibly one of the most exciting days of my life because out of mine and Andy's three year friendship I have never been inside of his house. It was very momentous.
Game night was poppin'. Most of the Naked Strippers were there +Queston (obviously since he was one of the hosts). We played my crazy dice game, the game of things, Traitor, and Heads Up. I lost horribly in my dice game, won the game of things, didn't fully comprehend traitor and won heads up #GoGryffindor. Game night at Quandy's is now going to be a weekly thing, so I am stoked.
Monday September 19
Today is the most Monday-est of Mondays.... I am dead tired. You will hear about the rest of me trying to survive today in the next blog probably.
This week is the week we have all been waiting for. The week leading up to the 21st Night of September Party on the 23rd of September. People have been growing out their staches, I have been creating the epic playlist, and Steph has been owning the decoration process. Get ready people, this is going to be the party of the century, and you won't just want to relive it through my blog.
Kay I seriously need to be included in the Musical watching festivities. Also Lololol at Travis and Ben Kevin. #truelove
