Pictures For Days

My school week was kind of just a mess and a half. Too much going on, too much to even recount. I just remember being stressed. One good thing that happened was that there was a new Smash Burger opening in Oro Valley and I was summoned by my internship to go photograph it, and I got the inside look of it. They also gave me a free chicken burger, but that's not really ethical so I gave it to Annabeth instead haha.
But the better news is that the weekend was not a mess and a half, it was fun and full of lots of picture taking and the best part, Zach.

Friday April 8
Steph was speaking at dollar lunch about being Jewish, so that was exciting. Zach walked in the middle of her talking and she stopped abruptly and said "hi Zach" it was pretty funny because she had no idea that he was going to be in town.
For dollar lunch we had lasagna and garlic bread, it was delicious. Abby also made her first appearance at dollar lunch so that made it a little more fun than usual.

After dollar lunch Zach and I went to go buy a new hard drive.

Back story: The pieces of my hard drive have been falling apart for like a week now, but I have been able to position everything just right for it to work for however long I needed it to. On Thursday I was getting a head start on my package for my broadcasting class and my hard drive (which had all my videos and my script for the package on it) finally died on me. Luckily for me knowing that my hard drive was going to die soon, I felt prompted up most of my project media onto my folder on the journalism server. Thank goodness I did that, I was still able to get my project done. Happy day! But unfortunately my hard drive was still dead... which is why I went to go buy a new one.

I went from a 500 GB to a 1 TB drive, so I'm living the high life. And the pieces don't fall apart #blessed.

After the Best Buy adventure we went back to my house so I could work on homework and so we could binge on some One Tree Hill (I think I am slowly but surely getting Zach hooked onto the show).

Zach and I went to dinner at Red Robin in the evening. I got this delicious prickly pear lemonade. I don't know what it is about lemonades, but they really have my heart. It was so delicious.
After dinner I finally tried Santa Barbara's Ice Cream! It's so close to my house and I have been wanting to go there FOREVER, but I just never have before. But I finally did on Friday with Zach, and it was amazing. It's just a cute little Ma and Pop ice cream shop, with so many delicious flavors. Too good. 10/10.

Also, I don't think I am ever going to outgrow colorful ice cream. I'm a forever child.

Saturday April 9
Zach, Annabeth and I woke up bright and early to take Annabeth's senior pictures. Annabeth is like the perfect person for me to take pictures of because she knows all the poses that make her look good, and all I have to do is turn a few dials and press a button. Doing senior portraits or other posed things for special events stress me out so much and I never feel like I am qualified to be capturing these moments for people, but Annabeth sure does make it easy for me.
Here are a few of my favorites:

Then after taking Annabeth's pictures, Zach and I went to Steam Pump Ranch in Oro Valley for an internship assignment of mine. They host an art gallery there once a year for kids across the Tucson area. It was pretty hilarious, mostly because of the titles of some of the kids' masterpieces (zoom in on the second picture to read some of them)

After I was done taking pictures there Zach and I went to go check out the progress on the Tucson Temple (it's really coming along people!)

Then we came back to my house to turn in my photos, super fun time. Then eventually we made our way to SPRANG FLANG (seriously my favorite thing at UA besides going to football and basketball games).
We went in the early afternoon so it was pretty barren and we were able to walk onto any ride we wanted. Unfortunately with Spring Fling you have to buy tickets to use to get onto the rides, and when you aren't waiting in hour long lines, you blow through your tickets pretty fast. BUT it was still a blast!

After we blew through our tickets we went to go eat lunch at the Student Union and the chillaxed and edited photos until Annabeth got off work in the evening.

Once she was off work we went back to Spring Fling because I wanted to try taking some pictures with all the lights and fun happening. I could definitely use some practice and more fine tuning, but I thought they turned out good for my first time trying!

Something about carnival lights just makes me so happy, if they weren't so dang over priced I would follow carnivals wherever they went.
Also I ran into all the newsroom editors while we were there at night, they all came up and talked to me, it made me feel like I actually had friends #happyday hahaha

After spending some more time at Spring Fling it was time for Zach to leave #crycrycry. We are really good at seeing each other almost every week, but it's no fun being away from each other during the more stressful days of the week. #HeLeavesIn51Days

Sunday April 10
I don't know whose idea it was to have Stake Conference right after General Conference... but it was. Unfortunately there were no cute babies sitting in front of me this year, but there were some older children pretending to choke one another... Things you don't see in a single's ward hahaha. But there were actually some good talks about what it means to be an active member of the Church and how to be an INTERactive member, definitely some things I need to work on, but today was a good reminder that I can be better.
But sitting with Steph, Abby and Andrew it is sometimes hard to pay attention because someone always has something funny to show the others and laugh about. My friends are a hoot.
After church I came back to my house, cooked some MacNCheese, and then went with Steph to yet another internship gig. This one was in Marana, it was a Wings of Freedom tour with WWII aircrafts for people to tour. It was pretty freaking cool... and the designs on the airplanes really had me cracking up.

It was really freaking windy there with all the storming that is happening in AZ. Also big shout out to Steph for always being the best "assistant" and driving me to places when I am without a car

So people, there are only TWENTY-THREE days left until classes are over. And I am pretty sure that I only have one final, which is online, which means I am going to be done in TWENTY-THREE days. WHAT WHAT. I just hope I can make it through these twenty-three days alive.
