Unfortunately my days leading up to soon have been the least bit exciting, so this blog will probably reflect those days quite well.
Wednesday December 2
After work I spent the remainder of my night in the Marshall building editing my final project for my multimedia class. I was there for quite a few hours, but I was considered lucky in that night. On Tuesday we had some time to start editing our project in class, and I think I used that time fairly wisely and got about half of my project done. Because of that I was probably only in the Marshall building for 2 1/2 hours editing. Other people were telling me how they spent a minimum of 8 hours editing their footage on Wednesday..... I can't even imagine.....
But alas we all finished out projects and I think everyone's turned out pretty good. Y'all can watch mine if you really want to, but it's a whole 6 minutes, so I understand such time is not available to all.
If you are not into watching amateur documentary type projects, you can always watch my super fun Whip Nae Nae video
Thursday December 3
My second to last day of classes. From what I can recall the day really wasn't all that exciting. I had chipotle for lunch, that's always fun.
Oh actually some fun things did happen.
After my last class there was a Study Abroad in Italy information session. The students from this past summer were asked to come and answer questions from all the people interested in the program. Kim provided us with lasagna made by his wife and pizza from No Anchovies in order to bribe everyone into coming. Well it worked for the the Vets, but only one new comer came to ask questions... so the meeting was really more of a reunion. But it was still good.
After the reunion, I went to the Daily Wildcat to shadow the photo editor to see what being an editor is like. There's an opening for the position next semester and I was going to apply for either being editor or assistant editor, but 1: with my crazy schedule and an internship I don't know if I will have the time and 2: I forgot when the deadline was and didn't apply. But it was still fun to hang out with all the editors and see what the newsroom is like on production night.
Friday December 4
I had work with Project Focus until 11, devotional and dollar lunch until 1, and work for the Daily Wildcat until 1:30.
I spent the rest of my day working on my final article for my advanced reporting class. I was really stressing about that assignment, but it was kind of a breeze.... which totally could be a bad sign.... but oh well.
At night it was party time. It was the institute's winter formal, and the theme this year was the 50's. All the signs in the institute did not specify which 50's we were supposed to dress as, so the crew had plans to dress like the 1850's. Unfortunately only Annabeth had an 1850's costume, but she rocked it so well, I wasn't even mad. We changed her name to Sarabeth, and told people that we brought her back with us from Colorado City.
Steph and I just went as boring old 1950's people, but I thought we were still pretty cute.
The winter formal always has low attendance at the institute so we have to try to make it fun. And we definitely enjoyed ourselves. They also had my new favorite treat there: raspberry sherbet and sprite float.... seriously guys it is so good... I had like 5 cups....
If any of you know the Sarabeth song my Rascal Flatts, I am rewriting it for this Sarabeth:
Sarabeth... scared to death... of leaving Colorado City.......
It's gonna be a hit people!
Saturday December 5
I wrote my TEDtalk response paper for my developing world class.
I had another assignment for my internship, to photograph the Oro Valley tree lighting festival. That was fun, lots of people.

Probably my favorite shot of the night LOL
Sunday December 6
This was the first time I went to third ward in quite a long while. (Last week was Thanksgiving so I was in Mesa, the week before I was driving home from my trip, the week before Sadie and Zach had their talks in Mesa, and the week before that was that special conference thing or the Southwest). Well it was fast Sunday, obviously....... and I bore my testimony in sacrament..... It was my first time doing it in 3rd ward LOL and probably my second time ever in my life during a sacrament meeting. I just talked about how much I love personal revelation and how it helps me through the times where things in the church just make absolutely no sense at all.... I almost started crying, which would have been real embarrassing, but don't worry I held them back.
Also since it was fast Sunday that meant it was break the fast. The ward decided to play into gender roles this week. The boys were assigned to make the chili and the girls were assigned to make desserts. Despite my inner protest I ate 2 bowls of chili and 2 slices of pie #ohwell they were delicious.
The rest of my Sunday I started writing my ethics research paper. I wrote about half of it and left the other half for Monday, but I was pretty happy with my progress. I also got myself caught up on Once Upon A Time.
Eventful Sunday.
Monday December 7
I worked as usual. After work I needed to get one more source for my reporting article, so I went up to the Project FOCUS office to get some insight and ended up with 3 new sources. I lucked out, and they all gave me awesome material to finish out my report.
I was worried that I would be spending all day Monday either working on finishing my essays that I had due. Well fortunately for me, there is an hour and a half block in my work day when I am just watching my student at his internship, so I was able to finish writing my ethics paper during that time. And after I got all my sources I finished my article in no time, so I ended up having a lot fo spare time and even made it to FHE.
We combined with 5th ward for FHE to play whiffle ball. I didn't participate, but I did instead have a tithing settlement meeting and a temple recommend interview with my Bishop. During the meeting he leaked to me that our ward would be shrinking since another stake was being created in Tucson.... 3rd ward is now the smallest ward out of the singles wards in Tucson. Third ward covers campus, so we aren't given nearly as much area as other wards because the people higher up assume there is a concentrated number of members on campus... WELL JOKES ON THEM BECAUSE MORMONS ONLY GO TO BYU.... Seriously our freshman count in our ward this year was embarrassing... so now we are the smallest ward... fun fun fun.
Tuesday December 8
My last day of classes! And the day that I assumed would be a huge relief on me. Well it kind of was.
I turned in my article for reporting, and my research paper for ethics. We watched my project in my multimedia class, and ended up with 100% on the project and in the class so holllllahhh. But as much work as I ended up accomplishing and finishing on Tuesday I still have so much more to do... so I am not even relieved.
Tuesday was great though because in my reporting class at 9 am my teacher brought us doughnuts, in institute Bro Somerville's wife brought us doughnuts for their 21st anniversary, and in my multimedia class my teacher brought us pizza. So I pretty much was covered for breakfast and lunch.
After all my classes were over I borrowed the car to go shopping for roomie Christmas. I stopped at Kneaders along the way to get dinner, and it was delicious as always.
When I arrived home I discovered that my LED light came for my camera!!!!!! I was so excited to use it.... but it didn't come with batteries so I had to go buy some.... and then I was able to use it. It gets soooo freaking bright, I think I may have permanently blinded Steph.
The song When You Believe from the Prince of Egypt has been stuck in my head since a choir sang it at the Oro Valley event on Saturday. It's such a pretty song, I just want to post it on here so I can listen to it again and again and again:
Wednesday December 9
Today is the last day of classes for everyone else at school. Tim, the student I attend class with, is very sad about his communications class ending, I think he is the only one in the school that is sad about it, but he's pretty precious about the whole thing.
Today is also the peer mentor celebration, which I am particularly excited about, because more free food. These celebrations are the only time during the year where all the students and all the mentors and all the bosses are in the same room together, and it's just so fun to reflect on the semester and all the fun things we did as a team. It's also going to be pretty emotional because Phyllis is leaving the program next semester for a new job, so we will be saying goodbye to her today. I suspect a lot of tears to be shed from a lot of people.
There is also a basketball game tonight, this will be my first one this year. I have just been way too busy to go.
So a look ahead:
I have two short answer/long essay exams. One in my developing world class which is online and will be open for me to take all of next week. The other is in my government class which is on Monday. I have a lot of studying to do for that one if I want to get an A in the class.
I have one more research paper to write for my developing world class which I really need to start.
I am planning on returning back to Mesa on Tuesday for the break, but we will see how that goes.
IT WILL ALL BE OVER SOON
