Wednesday December 9
I'm backing it up to Wednesday because I thought I was going to die, and that is actually something exciting in a very boring finals week. So I have the peer mentor party and I am eating lots of pizza and drinking lots of cola, as any one else would do at a peer mentor party. After the party was over Tim and I had to write his chapter journal so we stationed ourselves outside of his classroom and worked on it. We finished really early so we had a lot of time to waste before his class started. Well during that time my body started to cramp up like crazy so I tried to drink a lot of water to ease the pain, but it wasn't working very well, so I just tried to lay down and forget what was happening to me. Then I started to feel like I was going to throw up, so I told Tim I was going to step outside for a minute, and sure enough I started throwing up... with lots of people around... super classy. When I thought I was finished I went back inside to Tim, and I just sat down hoping to recover from the taste of thrown up cheese in my mouth. Then it was time for class to start and I stand up, and I all of a sudden can't feel my hands anymore and I start to get light headed feeling like I might pass out any second. So I get Tim settled into his spot in the classroom and I decided it would be a good idea to call my manager to get someone to cover me so I could go home. Well eventually Colleen and Kirsten came and covered me and I started to walk home. When I got home I popped a few ibuprofens a went straight to sleep. When I woke up I was feeling a lot better, and I remembered I had tickets to the basketball game so I decided to go for a little bit and leave when I wasn't feeling well. But I made it through the whole game, and I am still alive today!
The basketball game was actually lots of fun, it was the first game I went to this semester, and also my last of the semester. But at least I went to one! And of course I will got o more next semester.
Thursday December 10
Thursday was dead day.
I woke up in the morning to go study at the library and I completely forgot that's when we planned to do roomie Christmas, so we did it in like 5 minutes before I went to the library. We decided this year to not do secret roomie and only give stocking stuffers to everyone. We got lots of candy, three pairs of socks, other fun treats, shower gel and other things I can't really remember. Another great roomie Christmas.
Then I went to the library to meet up with Debbie to work on our study guide for our government class. There were three parts to the study guide: lecture notes, textbook notes and long essay. We decided to split the study guide up over three days. Thursday was textbook day.
After we finished the study guide I went back to my house and started working on my research paper for my developing world class. I ended up finishing 2/3 of the paper and only moving from the couch 2 times.
Friday December 11
Study guide day 2 was dedicated to the lecture notes. Super fun. We got it done fairly quickly so I had a whole day once again to sit on my couch and work on other things. Friday I decided to work on my final for the developing world class. The final for that class was 4 short essay questions (chosen out of 6 options) and one long essay questions (chosen out of 2 options). I finished all the short essay questions, started the long essay and then I took a break.. for the rest of the day.
Rory came over eventually and hung out, we went to the mall so I could look at some Christmas present ideas, we went to Barnes & Noble and I found this awesome National Geographic book about national parks, it was like 100 bucks, but it was awesome.
Eventually we came back to my house and we watched Love Actually, a Christmas classic.
Saturday December 12
Study guide day 3 was dedicated to writing the long essay. We have to write the essay during the 2 hour test period, so we decided to write it all out on Saturday to create an outline for us to remember while we were taking the test.
After studying at the library I walked home and it started HAILING. Hail is so crazy and quite rare in Tucson. Steph, Amanda, Rory and I wanted to go up Mt Lemmon to find the snow fall since it was raining/hailing in Tucson we figured there would be snowfall up on the mountain. Well once we get to the road entrance to get up the mountain, we find out that the roads were closed due to the snow..... so we were unable to find snowfall, sad day.
On Saturday night a big group of mormons planned to go to Winterhaven, and I came along. It was freezing, but it was a lot of fun. I love all the different ideas and visions on the houses, it's all very creative.
Last week in 3rd ward for the year. My roommates were either not going to third ward, had a final to take or were not feeling well, so I went solo for the last two hours of church. Sacrament was kind of unconventional, but also pretty cool. There were like 6 people who talked about their favorite Christmas hymns and then we sang them. They didn't even sing Angels We Have Heard On High... which is my favorite, so I was pretty bummed, but oh well.
After church I walked home and spent the rest of my day finishing up my research paper, to only find out I couldn't turn it in until Tuesday... I was bummed, once I was done I just wanted to be done.
Monday December 14
I had work from 8:30-1. It was raining so hard, so it was kind of miserable for the students, but we still managed to have a little fun with some games of pool.
After work I went straight to the library to meet up with Debbie before the exam started at 3:30. I got to a point where I just couldn't study anymore so I started being a troll on the big class study guide. You see, because millennials are so lazy and cannot do anything on their own, in this class of 500 ish students, we all shared a google doc for people to write their notes on for the study guide. Well on this study guide I started to change fonts, font sizes, and font colors of random words throughout the document, I thought it was hilarious because I was putting emphasis on the strangest of words... but one guy did not think it was funny and deleted everything.... no fun.
WELLLL eventually it was time to go and take the exam. I was so in the zone on this exam.... until the fire alarm went off.... No one really knew what to do so we all just sat their for a minute and then evacuated the auditorium. I was so mad because this was taking time away from me taking the exam, I just wanted to get it over with and leave that auditorium forever.
Eventually we were allowed to go back into the auditorium and I spent pretty much the rest of the time allotted to finish the exam. I THIIIINK I did pretty well, and this is the only class that I don't know if I will get an A or a B in.... This is the worst part of finals people... waiting for your grades.
Monday night was FHE. It was a white elephant gift exchange. I brought a ninja turtle paddle ball and a palm pet chick. I ended up getting glow sticks, goofy string and something else that must remain secret for national security reasons.
After FHE I made Steph drive me to Canes so I could eat dinner, we picked up Dan along the way, and went back to my house to watch Star Wars episode 1. It was quite the party at my house there was Steph, Dan, Jordan, Annabeth, Olivia, Amanda and myself. I didn't make it through the whole movie because I had work bright and early on Tuesday morning
Tuesday December 15
I turned in my research paper finally.
I worked from 8:30-10:30 helping Tim study for his exam.
After work Steph and I went to lunch at Kneaders, a great way to end the semester.
After lunch Rory picked me up and we started our journey home.
While we were on the I-10 I decided I should stop in Eloy to cross it off my list, and then we decided to also cross Coolidge and Florence off my list. I had never driven the "scenic route" to get home, but I still like driving on the 10 better. I'm still working on the video for this little trip, so you will all have to wait for that one.
While we were driving from Eloy to Coolidge we saw a bunch of cars next to this building. I thought it was a mall in the middle of nowhere, Rory thought it was a Wal Mart... turns out it was a prison. So that was an exciting part of my day.
Eventually we made it home to Mesa, I finished my developing world final, turned it in and then partied with Avery.
Zach came over eventually and joined my family to go pick out a Christmas tree. I picked out he best douglas fur you could imagine. We came back to my house to set it up. While we waited for the tree to relax from being tied up, Zach, Kenzie and I went to Target to buy some lights for the tree and so McKenzie could buy a magic kit. We found Trevor, lights and a magic kit, so it was a successful trip.
Then we came back and decorated the tree, super fun time.
Look how cute I was in Kindergarten
Wednesday December 17
I went to lunch with Sadie at chipotle, and for some "dessert" at Jamba Juice. It's always a party when Sadie and I are together.
After lunch and dessert, I drove Steph to the airport so her winter break could officially begin.
Then I hung out with Avery for a while, played some games, watched some shows, kissed each others cheeks (she's been in a real kissing mood lately)
I went over to the Walton household to hang out. We watched the finale of Survivor and it was craaaazy. If you all didn't watch this season, you have to. It was fun watching it with the Walton's because they get into the show, so it makes it a lot more fun.
So now it's Thursday and I am in the worst part of winter break... waiting for grades to go in. So far I know I got an A in advanced reporting, multimedia and ethics., and now I am just waiting on my government grades...... I am really hoping for that 4.0 semester, but we shall seee!
That video. Too good. hahah
