Welcome Summer

I did it people, I have completed my second full year of university. I finished this semester with a 3.8, I think it is physically impossible for me to get a 4.0 semester... one day... one day. But I am happy to have gotten the grades I did, especially because I had multiple scares this past week of possibly getting more than 1 B. I personally think it is ridiculous that it takes so long for my professors to post my grades, leaving me to deal with stress and anxiety when I should be enjoying my summer. In fact, I still have one grade that hasn't been posted (but I already know my grade in the class because I became impatient and emailed my teacher).

I have been home in Mesa for almost a week but it feels like a whole month, so I am going to try my best to recall all the things I have done in the past week.

Wednesday May 13
Rory and I left Tucson and headed to Mesa in the afternoon after he finished his final. Not only was this my first full day of summer, but it was also McKenzie's 17th birthday. I am still in shock that it is physically possible for her to be seventeen years old already, she is still 12, maybe 13, in my head (I honestly think that I am still 16, so logically this all makes sense).
For her birthday the family -EJ +Zach went to Sushi Kee for dinner because she loves sushi. After dinner we went back home and ate a fruit tart cake thing and watched Chicago.

When I asked my mother to take a picture of me and McKenzie, Rory said "no sorority poses" so obviously that meant everyone needed to come in and do a sorority pose.

Thursday May 14
During the day I went out with my mother and sisters to go shopping. My mom had gap cash she needed to spend, which ended up being a perk for me because I got a new shirt and a new pair of shorts. While in the Gap, Avery practiced her fine yoga skills, it was very impressive.

At night McKenzie, Zach and I went to go see Pitch Perfect 2. I was so stoked to see this, but I didn't set my expectations too high because sequels are never quite as good (of course with a few excepts ex: Toy Story 3) but it totally beat my expectations, I was DYING laughing almost the entire time. There were more funny lines than just Fat Amy's, so it was awesome. 10/10 highly recommend to all.

Friday May 15
Zach is the most generous soul in the world. He came over to my house in the morning with two smoothies from Jamba Juice and let me pick between the two. He's a keeper. I hung out with him up until he had to work, who works during the summer anyway? People who buy their girlfriends smoothies in the morning.

While he was at work Keaton picked me up and we went to Cob's house to have some pizza and a bonfire. Throughout the night some of their other senior friends joined the party, and eventually Zach arrived with some bahama bucks, because he is a saint. Due to some car/ride complications I didn't leave until after midnight, but it was pretty fun. We hung out around the fire until it started pouring rain, then we all went inside. Cob, myself and this other kid played with a fire extinguisher so that was interesting. Cob has a Cards Against Humanity-esque game for chrome cast, and it was hilarious. I was reigning champion of the first round, but ended up winning no points as more people started to play.

Saturday May 16
Saturday I spent most of the day at Zach's house. His younger brother, Scott aka Scitt, is sick with pneumonia so we chilled at his house to watch him, not that he needed to be watched but just in case. For dinner the Walton brothers and I ate some delicious chick fil a, because Scitt got to choose dinner and he loves chick fil a.
We spent most of the night playing this circle game on the internet that Scitt introduced us to. It's the most addicting game in the world. We all teamed up to build up Zach's circle so he could be the leader. It was clearly and eventful night full of great adventure as we were all staring at computer screens.

Sunday May 17
I woke up waaaaay too early to go to Zach's home ward to watch Cob speak. He did a great job, and has a great pulpit presence, proof that he will be a great missionary (even though he thinks he was talking too quickly). I only stayed for the first hour and spent almost the rest of my Sunday sleeping and watching Grey's Anatomy. A day to decompress from a crazy semester, it was much needed.

At night, Zach and I went to the Desert Ridge stake seminary graduation to see the rest of the fam graduate and the remainder of my mormon friends still in high school, it was very exciting. I really want someone to wear their cap and gown to this one day, I think it would be hilarious.

I was so happy I could see Tanner graduate from seminary. He was my most supportive friend (with the exception of my BFF Sadie) my senior year despite all the crazy things that happened that year. He came to my baccalaureate, seminary graduation and high school graduation.  Look how grown up he is compared to his sophomore year...

This was the very last seminary graduation for the fam, so I figured it would be appropriate to post the seminary grad photos from the past years of the rest of the fam. I am the only one who has been to all of the grads, but that's also because I am a sinner and am not going on a mission, lol just kidding.
Graduation for Cob and Keaton 2015

Graduation for Trevor and Zach 2014

Graduation for Sadie, Parker and me 2013

After the graduation we went to my house to hang with the family. We watched the billboard awards and the Bruce Jenner special on Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Quick opinion (feel free to scroll if you don't care): I have no problem with Bruce wanting to transition to a woman (not that it would matter if I did have a problem anyway), but it bugs the bejeezus out of me how much (s)he is milking the situation. In my opinion, something like being transgender or wanting to become transexual is such a private thing, it should be something you want to keep between you and your family. Of course I have no experience with it directly, but I just don't think (s)he should be milking this situation for all this attention (and probably money).

Monday May 18
Zach had the day off so the plan was to spend the day with him. EJ and Rory wanted me to see a movie with them, and when I told them no, they said they were going to invite Zach to spite me. They invited him via twitter, and I thought it was the most hilarious conversation in the world. I love the guys in my life and how weird they all are.

For the record I didn't think the movie was called Max Me: going for gold/the ride of the Sith Lord.

Instead of going to see Max Me: going for gold/the ride of the Sith Lord, Zach and I went shopping at Arizona Mills to buy me some Sperry's. Unfortunately, I didn't end up buying Sperry's, but Zach got two pairs of Vans and I got a new pair of sandals.
Funny story about Zach's shoes. So we were looking around for a second pair of shoes for him because the deal was buy one get one half off. He found this super cool grey shoes, and we both liked them a lot, but the deciding factor on buying them was that it had my name on them (I'm assuming the style of the shoe is called Sydney). Just to add to some more craziness to the situation, the shoes were half off and it was my half birthday! How crazy, I tell ya, we were amazed and we were sold on buying those shoes.
We went to a ton of other stores in the mall to find Sperry's and I wasn't satisfied with any of the styles or prices, so I went with some comfy sandals that I can wear in Italy.
At night, we went to go see Age Of Adaline. It was awesome! Really quite predictable, but definitely one of my favorite chick flicks (and I am usually not that big a fan of them).
We planned to go to a create your own pizza place afterwards for dinner, but I was too full on popcorn, so we went to my house to hang out with my family instead, but we did end up getting super delicious cream slushes from Sonic.

Tuesday May 19
I have yet to start packing for my study abroad (which I leave for on Friday might I add), so my mother, Avery and myself went shopping today to buy all the little things I need for my trip, and along the way it was necessary to buy some new jeans for Hollister. I really need to find some motivation to pack, it just sounds like a lot of work and planning that I am not really that willing to do.

The rest of my week consists of Italy prep, graduation for the high school seniors and more Italy prep.
Don't worry people I am going to keep this blog going while I am in Italy. I'll post all my pictures and write about all my adventures for you all to live vicariously through me. I can't wait, it's going to be the adventure of a life time (that is if my mom stops reminding me to not go into hot italian boys cars)

P.S Happy Birthday Andrew!
