Super Bowl Weekend

Wednesday
Basketball game against Oregon. My siblings Christmas gift to my father was a ticket to this game. Unfortunately I had school all day so I didn't get to spend much time with him, but I did go and sit with him before the game started to chat. I also brought my super zoomy lens with me to the game, I didn't end up using it during the game at all, but I had fun before the game stalking people.

Taylor and Dakota being all cool in the second row
Friday
I had work in the morning and then devotional and then dollar lunch, which was sweet pork burritos (AKA Cafe Rio style AKA my favorite lunch of the school year). After dollar lunch I have class at 2, but I usually have about an hour and a half break in between the two so I just sit around the institute. Well as I was sitting around at the institute I started to get really bad cramps, started feeling dizzy and light headed. I left the institute to walk to my class and everything was going crazy and I ended up throwing up on the sidewalk and proceeded to walk towards a bathroom. I decided I probably shouldn't go to class, so Steph came and picked me up, dropped me off at the house and then bought me a ginger ale, she's an angel. Luckily, the sickness passed by the end of the day, I have some theories about what happened but it would probably be TMI. Unfortunately because of this sickness I had to miss the basketball game against Oregon State, I was pretty bummed but I was still able to watch it on my couch.
Saturday
Saturday was a super happy day because Zach came to Tucson, and he came for the whole weekend! When he arrived, we (Zach, Steph, Rory and myself) went to Pizza Studio for lunch in the pouring rain. We then went to Wal-Mart to buy some stuff and rented some cartoon Madea movie (If you know me and Steph at all, you know how much we love Madea movies) and watched it back at our house. Steph went to boys' house to get her seatbelt fixed, Rory went home because he was done with his laundry, so Zach and I went out to eat. We planned on going to Native New Yorker but apparently there was a UFC fight going on so the place was packed, so I introduced Zach to the heavenly Eegee's instead. Like all cool college students do on a Saturday night, we came back to my house and did homework, and watched Zoolander and Friends on Netflix.
Sunday
I dragged Zach to church with me in the morning, his first time in a singles ward, how exciting. We went to Sacrament meeting and to Sunday school, but for the third hour we helped prepare subs for break the fast.
After church and break the fast, I needed to take photos for my photojournalism class. Now before you go and judge me before "working" on Sunday, I need you all to know the difficulty of this assignment during this particular time in the year. The assignment was to take head shots of someone using the sun as a front light, side light, back light and as a shade. Well this particular week has been rainy and cloudy and foggy, seriously no sunshine to be found. But on Sunday the sun finally showed himself and I could actually take the photos. The other difficulty of this assignment was to find a plain background to take the photos against, if any of you know the University you know that every single building is made of brick (and no brick does not count as a plain background), so that was fun... we may or may not have used a sign for one of the shots because a wall was too hard to find.
So Zach and Annabeth joined in on my adventure of taking headshots of Steph, and it ended up turning into a photoshoot.

But I did actually end up getting head shots for the assignment
After that little shoot, we went back to 1320 to set up for the super bowl party! You all may know of my pride and joy, the super bowl predictions poster. This year it caused quite a commotion as my lovely friend like to point out technicalities, but it was all resolved eventually and Steph was the winner! She even got the score of the game exactly right! I didn't come in last, so I take pride in that. Also, I tied with Zach so neither of us are better than the other.
I was rather disappointed with specifically two things during the super bowl. 1: disappointed that the Seahawks didn't run the ball. 2: disappointed in the small number of beer commercials (which I suppose should be a good thing, but my prediction was much higher than 3).
The commercials were really good this year, except for the nationwide commercial that took a really dark turn.
But perhaps the very best part of the Super Bowl party was the food. Everyone bought or made some super delicious my favorites were Rory's hot wings (which he made himself) and Natalie's brownies... which I am sure she made herself as well.(edit: they were Andrews brownies, he did make them himself and were still delicious)

Sadly the night had to end and everyone went home. It was a freaking awesome weekend though and I wish it did not go by as quickly as it did!

Monday
For FHE we had a cultural night, where people who served missions in foreign countries or who lived in foreign countries shared a part of the culture (the food part) and the food was suuuuuper delicious, especially the empanadas (sp?) from Argentina (s/o to the roomie Heather for making those with her fiancé and Mitch). I had to take photos at the event, but I am too lazy to upload them to the blog right now, so for all you 3rd ward people can practice patience.
After FHE we went to U Swirl to bid farewell to Elder Ontivaros who is returning home from his mission tomorrow
