Thankful for cousins, black Friday, and U of A

Thank goodness for the pilgrims so I could have a few days off of school and work!

Wednesday
Even though I didn't have any classes, I still had work so I couldn't go home until 3. But work was still fun. I went to class with Zack, ate some lunch and then worked on his internship prezi presentation.
That's the usual schedule I have with him on Wednesday's and then I switch over to Tyler to prep for his class and go to class with him. But Tyler's class was cancelled so I helped him study for an upcoming exam then we went to schedule planning to work on his schedule for the week after break. Tyler also took an epic selfie with some of the other students and peer mentors.
Fun fact: after this selfie was taken the people in the back left all fell on top of each other, it was kind of hilarious. I love all my students and my co workers, they are all such gems.

After work I went home to pack, I picked up Rory and then we headed home to Mesa. My cousin Mary-Margaret came to visit us from BYU for Thanksgiving. You may be wondering why she didn't go home to her family for Thanksgiving, well here is why, Canada does not have the same thanksgiving as America, in fact theirs is a month prior. So instead of going home to Canada she came to party in the warm Arizona instead! And boy has it been a party.

Mary-Margaret, McKenzie, Zach and I went to Native New Yorker for dinner (I realize now that I probably go there all too often). Mary-Margaret had never been there, and it's my favorite so it was a must that we went. After dinner we all went to Old Navy so Zach could buy a sweater. I was particularly disappointed with their sweater collection (they usually have really great ones) so instead I picked out two shirts for him that are way better than any sweater they had there. McKenzie and Mary-Margaret are pro shoppers and were able to find some cute dresses for themselves as well.
After Old Navy, we took Mary-Margaret to the Gilbert Temple, since it's just a few minutes away. When Zach tried to describe the temple to her he said "it is literally..... so pretty" (it was one of those 'you had to be there' moments, but we all thought it was hilarious and it was an ongoing joke for the rest of the weekend)

We tried to practice our heel clicks while we were there

Then we were all pretty chilly so we went to Starbucks for some hot chocolate and then went back to my house to play Dutch Blitz (I won) and Anomia (I won).

Thursday
As per Thanksgiving tradition, my family goes to my Uncle Chad and Aunt Bedie's house for Thanksgiving lunch all dolled up in our U of A garb, and their family is all not dolled up in their ASU cloth, since Mary-Margaret goes to BYU we let her rock a BYU shirt. My Uncle made these super awesome UA/ASU cornhole boards, which was definitely the highlight of the party.

Rory and I played as a team twice and won both times. I think the most entertaining team to watch were my parents, neither of them were doing so hot so it was very entertaining to watch. EJ was also a crack up because he was more focused on dancing than he was with the game.

After the party at the Price's we came home and then immediately left to go wait line for Black Friday shopping. Our first stop was at Target where EJ brought me a redbull and I got a free paper crown and a coupon for an ornament from target.
Target was very organized and easy to navigate and find the things I wanted. Much better than the next stop that EJ and I went to... Wal Mart (McKenzie, Mary-Margaret and my Mom went to Kohls). There was ONE thing EJ and I needed to buy from wal mart, and it was supposed to be released at 8 pm. So we get there around 7, we ask a co worker where it's going to be placed and they said in the general electronic vicinity. So we hang around the general vicinity waiting for the product to be rolled out. Well about 5 minutes before 8 I asked another worker where they would be and they said the product would be at the PHARMACY (the exact opposite side of the store). I was not very happy so I send EJ down there and it turns out you had to receive a bracelet in order to get the product WHICH WE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN IF THE FIRST WORKER WE TALKED TO TOLD US THE RIGHT PLACE!! So Wal Mart was a fail.
Next EJ and I waited in line at Ulta for the rest of the girls. I went inside for a little bit, but nothing caught my eye, and I was starving so I went to McDonalds with EJ and Kenzie and met with Zach while we were there.
When my mom and Mary Margaret were done at Ulta, we headed over to Chandler Mall and shopped there until about 1 in the morning.
It was another successful black Friday (except for Wal Mart of course).

Friday
I woke up bright and early with the rest of my family to head over to Tucson for the big U of A vs. ASU game. I had full faith that we were going to take back the territorial cup at this game AND WE DID. We put all sorts of forks in em! It was such a great game even though in my opinion, the refs were way to harsh on U of A and not harsh enough on ASU, but hey we still won so I'm not complaining. The only downside to the game was how freaking hot it was and there wasn't a cloud in the sky, so I was exposed to the sun the entire time on only one side of my body... so half of my face got sunburnt... so that was fun. But the energy in Arizona Stadium was so insane, I've never heard it that loud before in my life! I think the best part of the game was storming the field, it was so crazy I swear I was just being lifted by the crowd, my feet weren't even touching the ground. We are now the Pac 12 south champs (because Stanford stomped all over UCLA) and we are headed to the championship to take down Oregon for the second time this year! It was definitely a great day to be a wildcat!
Dakota goes hard with the paint. He gets on the camera more then anyone else I swear. I always try to stand by him to get on the camera but I am always just too short. BUT turns out I did get on TV and Dakota's face was blocked by the scoreboard. I finally got my debut on Fox.

Selfie on the field

Attempted selfie with a football player, then this kid photo bombed it

I found my homie Kyle on the field too!
Mormon selfie!

We love Sani!
This is the second time I have stormed the field in two years! I feel so lucky to go to such an amazing school with such an amazing team!

After the game the whole family met back up and went to Chili's to celebrate and then headed back home! When we got home I went to go hang out with Zach and we finalized the plans to go to Disneyland in December, I'm sooooo freaking excited!

Saturday
We got to sleep in a little bit after two crazy days of standing, but not for too long because we all wanted to go on a hike before it got too warm outside. EJ, Rory, McKenzie, Mary-Margaret and I went up to the wind caves, while my parents did a much easier hike with Avery.

After our hike we ate Chipotle and Subway for lunch and then had a siesta and watched various other football games.
At night my mother, EJ, McKenzie, Mary-Margaret, Avery and I went to the Mesa temple lights.

It kind of hit me this week, when we took Mary-Margaret to the temples, how lucky we are to have so many temples in such a close vicinity. Arizona is slowly becoming Utah with all these temples.

After the temple lights we took Mary-Margaret to Bahama Bucks because she's never been there, and then we came back home!

Later I went out with Keaton, Trevor, Jacob and Zach. This was kind of a sad hang out because it was probably the last one I will have with Trevor before he leaves for his mission to Honduras! The fam is losing members to missions one by one and our group message is getting smaller and smaller, but I am so happy for all my friends out on missions and Trevor who is leaving next week! I sure will miss that kid, but he is going to be such an amazing missionary, and he might get to Sadie so that's super exciting!

Eventually all the boys had to go home so I just spent some time with the Walton brothers, playing with snapchat and watching Despicable Me on ABC family. Apparently they all hate commercials, but I told them commercials are perfect talking and getting to know each other time, so I asked them various questions about their favorite things. I found it entertaining, I don't know how enthused they were about it though lol.

This break has gone by way too fast and I really don't feel like going back to school with all my projects and finals coming up. But the sooner I get all that lame crap done I will be back in Mesa for Christmas break and be ready to party!
