Temples & Farms

Friday I went to the Phoenix temple with a whole bunch of crazy kids including: Steph, Lauren, Taylor, Tory, Dakota, Ali, Mother, McKenzie, Avery and EJ. Steph and I drove together and we met everyone at Wet N Wild to take the shuttle over to the temple. The temple was absolutely gorgeous and I loved the "oval theme" (I don't know if that was actually the theme but Steph and I said it was). The best part of the tour was the fact that Avery was "texting" the entire time on one of my old phones that doesn't work anymore, everyone was giving us funny looks, but it was hilarious. I am very grateful to have so many temples within a decent proximity from me and that I had the opportunity to go through two open houses this year, that's freaking awesome.

You may notice that I am wearing glasses and you may think why does Sydney never wear her glasses? Well I only wear my glasses when I have eye issues (which happens more often than you would think). This weeks eye issue was a massive stye that was extremely painful and awkward, thus the glasses.

After going to the temple all of us (except Lauren) went to Cafe Zupas for a delicious dinner and italian sodas. After dinner I went home to Mesa along with Steph who was partying with me for the weekend. We all decided we wanted to watch the Fault In Our Stars, so I invited Zach over to watch it with us and it turns out we didn't watch the movie at all. Avery spent the entire night bossing us around and dancing to multiple songs including: Bang Bang and All About That Bass (which are her two favorite songs right now). It was a blast as always. I've concluded that I can't go home without some variation of an Avery dance party.

Saturday I woke up and went to Krispy Kreme to get some heavenly pumpkin spice doughnuts for everyone at my house. Almost all of my favorite coworkers were there so it was nice to catch up with them. Every time I go back to visit I start to miss that place a little bit, but then when I go back to work during breaks I can't wait to be done.

Later that day I went to Schnepf farms for there super totally rad and awesome chili and pumpkin festival with Steph, Zach, Kenzie, Audrie and Avery. We started off with a face painting for Avery...

Then we headed over to the pumpkin patch so Steph could take some white-girl photos and so Avery could pick out a baby pumpkin to take home

Her pumpkins brings all the boys to the yard

They all wanted in on the implants

The perfect pumpkin

We then went to the petting zoo (obviously not because I wanted to, I'm terrified of goats) because Avery had been talking about seeing the animals all day. As soon as Steph, Audrie and Kenzie took her in she got scared and said she was afraid of goats (coincidence?).
After the terror in the zoo, Avery and I went and tackled the pillow trampoline and she absolutely loved it.

Then Avery was too afraid to go on anything else so we decided to go to the picking garden to take some more pictures, and we stopped again at the pumpkin patch because the lighting was better.

We've been together 9 months now so a pregnant pumpkin picture seemed fitting

Avery loves messing around with Zach

Then we went to the chili and chicken dinner WHERE THEY WERE OUT OF CHILI!!!!!!!! I was very mad, but the chicken and the hotdogs and the corn were really good still. Avery really loved the corn.

After we ate my mom and EJ showed up to relieve us from Avery duty for a little while.
Steph, Zach and I first went to the dog show but it had already started and we could barely see so we decided to go to the racing pig show a little bit early to get good seats. Audrie and McKenzie caught up with us and got super cool cotton candy on a glow stick

There was a little boy flirting with McKenzie.

I chose the best pig for half of the races and left a little early because the last round of racing "pigs" were actually goats and I had NO time for that.

After the show we went to wait in line for the roller coaster, we had fun playing with the cotton candy glow sticks and we even found a baby corn on the ground (don't worry we didn't eat it)

After 45 minutes of waiting in line for a 45 second ride we finally got on! By the looks of the coaster isn't that grand but it's actually pretty frightening because you're not very secure in the seat. It's pretty exhilarating and lots of fun.

After the coaster we went to find my mom, bought some cinnamon almonds and then went to buy tickets for the haunted train ride and continued to wait in a line for the ride for a little over an hour. The line was all worth it listening to McKenzie and Audries shrieks behind me.

Sunday I went to Alec's farewell talk and he absolutely rocked it! He is going to be such an amazing missionary and bless some many Brazilian lives!
I also went to church with Zach to see his little brother Jonah give his first talk in sacrament. He totally rocked it to and made me want to be more obedient (that was the subject of his talk).
After two sacraments I went home packed up my things and went back to Tucson. Oh guess what everyone! EJ bought a new car which means Rory and I get to share the grandma car in Tucson. SO I got to drive back to Tucson in my brand new old grandma car through some very strange weathers. I am very excited to actually have a car in Tucson and not be so dependent upon my roommates (although I still will probably make them drive me everywhere anyway ;) ).
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend like I did... now I have to face a crazy week of essays and quizzes.
