Tuesday morning I woke up from my mother yelling at me to wake up and get ready because my dentist finally had an opening that was before the end of July... this slot opened at a time that I thought was awful at the time because I was supposed to be leaving for California that day, I just didn't know when yet, and I didn't know if going to the dentist appointment would affect me going to California or not... but I ended up going anyway because a few days prior I had some intense toothaches on the left side of my mouth and a massive canker on my right.... so you can all imagine the struggle of me trying to eat. Found out I have to get a root canal (yaaaaaay :( ) and I've got a wisdom tooth growing in. Lot's of fun dental work ahead of me.
Some hours after my dentist appointment Zach, his mom and Trevor came to pick me up for the most epic 51 hour California trip known to man... maybe that is exaggerating, but it was a ton of fun! We left my house around 5 PM and started our journey onward to Magic Mountain. Oh before I forget... not only was I traveling with Zach, his mom and Trevor but we also brought Sadie, so to speak. Her family made a close to lifesize photo of her to travel with so I asked if I could borrow it for this fun trip, which she totally would have loved to come on.
We stopped on our road trip to eat some food somewhere near the border of az/cali (I think) and fill up some gas. We ate at a gas station subway... which is an odd concept to me, but it still tasted delicious. And of course we had to take a picture of us during this pit stop on our journey
Most of the car ride I spent sleeping... so nothing too exciting happened besides the crazy snapchats that Zach and Trevor were sending to me... here's a sample...
When we were probably 30 minutes out from our hotel we stopped at in-n-out for some food and decided to creep the workers out with our Sadie cut out as Zach attempted to feed her french fries
Eventually we got to out hotel. And for all my mothers who are worried about us staying in one hotel room, Zach and Trev were on the floor, Sadie and I on one bed and then Pam on the other. So everything was good and safe and appropriate lol.
Wednesday we woke up to the joyous sounds of "Turn Down For What" which was Trevors alarm clock. When we were all awake I asked if I had talked in my sleep at all during the night (which I am really good at if you didn't already know) but I apparently didn't, instead I just sat up straight on my bed, not doing anything... just sleeping... probably really creepy.
After we all got ready we went to the breakfast a the hotel, which Sadie really enjoyed...
Can't find applejacks in Honduras, can ya?
After our breakfast Pam dropped us off at Magic Mountain, but before we went in, we of course had to take a picture (which turned out to be the only picture we took that day because of how much fun we were having)
We didn't actually take Sadie in with us because the cut out is too short for all the rides.
So yeah as I was saying we didn't take any pictures while we were inside Magic Mountain but it was a TON OF FUN! This place is for the big leagues. They have some really intense roller coasters... ones where you are standing, flying, going backwards, spinning while moving... all very crazy but all very fun.
Trevor was all over the most intense rides, I went on all of them except Superman cause I chickened out at the whole 100 mph in 7 seconds thing... I did make them go on my moderate water rides which I thoroughly enjoyed... and I'm pretty sure they did too. Oh my gosh... I totally lied, I did end up taking one picture of them getting soaked on this bridge that was right above a water ride.
I felt pretty proud of myself for this pretty picture.
I'd say my favorite rides were probably Scream, X2, the drop of doom (which is the tallest drop ride in the world by the way), and Tatsu (even though I thought I was going to die on that one for sure).
We ended up going on all the maximum thrill rides and most of the moderate thrill ones and even got to double up on some before we had to leave the park which closed at 9.
By 8 my legs already started to give out on me, I had the common case of "Disney legs" which is what Pam calls them. When we got to the hotel I just wanted to lay there, chop off my legs and never leave.
For dinner we ended up ordering pizza and as soon as I was done eating I was exhausted and went straight to sleep.
That night I apparently sleep talked whenever Zach would switch positions on the floor? I don't know I can't remember that's just what they told me.
Thursday we slept in (which was heavenly) packed up our things and started our journey back to Arizona.
Along the way we stopped at Costco for some lunch because if you have a costco card there's not reason that you should not eat there right?
The car ride consisted of sleeping and listening to the book that was playing in the car. I only listened to about an hour at a time before I would fall asleep and then wake up again to listen to more so I didn't really fully understand what was happening but it was still pretty interesting.
Eventually we made it back to Arizona. Since we are lame 18 year olds who didn't take a lot of pictures while we were in California, we instead took some in front of my house, which is just as magical right?
Special shout out to Pam who made this trip possible and drove us all the way to California for a fun party time, you rock!
Oh & to Zach for inviting me, he's pretty chill I guess
Friday was the most dreaded day of the whole year for anyone that is an employee of Krispy Kreme... National Doughnut Day. I didn't have work until 2 so in order to distract myself from the sadness that would overcome me thinking about doughnut day I decided to read/listen to The Fault in Our Stars (Which I finished before I saw the movie and absolutely loved the book so much, I don't know why I ever refused to read it, it's fantastic and I recommend it to alllll)
So eventually 2 oclock rolls around and my 8 hour shift began... I was scheduled to be a processor that day (the person that decorates and adds all the filling to doughnuts) and it was mad chaos. In total my two fellow processors and I made over 10,000 doughnuts! That is absolutely psychotic. My frustration was not in the fact that I had to make so many doughnuts though, my frustration of the day (and the cause of my insanity for the day) was the people in retail (the people who handed you your free doughnut). They kept coming back to the processing area asking for us to make doughnuts for them WHICH WERE ALREADY MADE, they were just too lazy to look.... oh and the other reason I went insane was because of the manager putting me on phone duty for the last two hours of my shift (while making doughnuts mind you) to answer the same phone call over and over and over.... yes today is national doughnut day, our lobby is open until 11 but our drive thru is 24 hours... I said that over and over... I never want to answer a phone again. Somehow I ended up having a smile on my face my entire shift and got complimented the next day for my positive attitude (I think they were thinking of someone else lol)
But alas I made it through the night... then I realized that I had to come back at work 6 hours later. FUUUUN!
After my Saturday shift (which was a million and ten times better than the shift prior) I hung out with Zach and Cob at Cob's sisters house to play the new mario kart, which was pretty sick but I didn't seem to appreciate all the cool new features as the boys did. To celebrate playing the name game we went to sonic and then all went home.
As soon as I got home my mom asked if I wanted to go see The Fault In Our Stars (mind you this was about 10 oclock at night) and I said of course as did McKenzie and Avery, I asked Zach if he wanted to come along for the party and went.
Unforunately I did not cry during the movie, but I did tear up. I do think the book had more emotion in it which made me actually cry, but the movie was fantastic nonetheless. My mother on the other hand was bawling, I told her that she needed to read the book and she would just cry even more.
This upcoming week McKenzie and my mother are going to girls camp while my father and I are babysitting Avery and working at the same time, this should be interesting...
Have a fantastic week everyone!
