It Was The Best Of Times and The Worst of Times

Alright so first week back at school... always super hard to adjust to. Steph and I came to the conclusion that there needs to be a break from spring break to adjust back to Tucson before school starts again. I suppose that would be easy to do if I just came back to Tucson a few days earlier but really there's no fun in that at all.
Surprisingly, my week went by extremely quickly, now if only the next 6 weeks will do the same and then I'll be a real happy camper.
Tuesday was the start of Lauren's birthday week (her birthday is tomorrow) so I will post the pictures she took as I  go through my days of the week.
Tuesday
A journal and some pencils
On Tuesday I had my regular school day but 2/3 classes I had that day cancelled their classes for Thursday so I was PUMPED. After school I went to the mall and to Trader Joes with Steph and Annabeth. I don't know why but I was in a really dancy mood so I was "dance walking" through all the stores, especially Trader Joes, they were playing such good music. For some reason I got some weird looks while dancing, I guess it's not normal to dance in public? Oh well. After those short shopping trips Lauren, Steph and I went to chipotle for our weekly chipotle trip and then I spent the rest of the night sleeping.
Wednesday
Sunflowers and a picture frame with a rockin' quote in it
I don't think anything too eventful happened during my school day on Wednesday but work was a little more exciting than usual. A few weeks earlier one of the leaders of Project FOCUS asked me to attend a parent meeting and say a few words about two of the students I worked with that will be graduating from the program in May. So that parent meeting was on Wednesday and it was super awesome to hear other peer mentors talk about the successes of the other students that I've spent some time getting to know and it was awesome to see my students laugh and smile when I told stories about them, I even got a hug from one of my students who is definitely "too cool" for hugging. It was a really cool experience and I'm so proud of all the students that will be graduating and conquering the world in May!

Thursday

What a happy day Thursday was! I got to sleep in until 10 AM! The only sad part was that my 11 am class was a mid term for my french class, but it wasn't that horrible so it didn't put too much of a damper on my day. After my exam I went home, ate some lunch, submitted my final essay for my english class and then went to my institute class. Then my english class, which is usually right after my institute class, was cancelled so I went home again before I had to go to work.
The best part of Thursday (and in reference to my blog title, the best of times) happened at night. It was game day for the wildcats! So my little group of friends here in Tucson decided to have a barbecue and watch the game together. When it comes to barbecues we discovered that Taylor is not good at them and Dakota is an expert. So shout out to Dakota for being a rockstar and making us all food while missing the first half of the game.
The game was SO CRAZY! Good thing Ali was there (who is the expert at taking pictures in all situations) to catch how Richardsons watch Arizona basketball.

Needless to say we are our fathers children
The game was awesome because we won and we advanced to the elite eight! My march madness bracket was pretty much dead at this point but I was super pumped at how well Arizona was doing!

Friday

Friday was cool I guess, school, work. Then I went to help set up the institute activity called the spring fling with Steph and Lauren. We had some good times dancing to some pretty cool remixes from a couple of guys who DJd the event. Steph and I only stayed for the dinner part of the evening and then we came back home. I watched 11 episodes of the Office, so clearly it was a productive night.

Saturday

I woke up around 9, did some laundry and watched some episodes of SVU. Then Steph and I went to smash burger, I ate some delicious sweet potato fries while she had a delicious burger. Then we went to jamba juice (shout out to Zach for the bogo coupon link) and then came back to our apartment to watch Frozen... I fell asleep but I watched a majority of it. It's not like I haven't seen the movie a gazillion times before. Then us roomies went to "Girls Night Out" at our friend Sanahin's house. Sanahin and her mom win the award for the best hostesses in the world. We ate moroccan chicken and persian rice with these adorable cookies that her mom bought for us.
Then we watched the game...
STUPIDEST GAME OF ALL TIME I HATE THE REFS AND THEIR STUPID CALLS. So yeah... we lost... hence the worst of times in my blog title. Here is a picture of me going into cardiac arrest in the last 2.3 seconds of the game
I can't believe basketball season is over but it was probably one of the greatest sports experiences I have had... Now here comes the long wait until football season.
After murderous screams when we lost Sanahin's mom calmed our hearts with some delicious pistachio cake. It ALMOST made up for the loss but it sure did help with my sadness.
When we left Sanahins house we heard about all the craziness going on near the University so Steph and I may or may not have went to go check out the unlawfullness.. When We got there most of the craziness had died down but oh my gosh I have never seen so many police cars in my life! We asked a cop how many there were and he said A QUARTER OF TUCSON PD! That's crazy to me.
After some adventuring we came back home watched videos and read reports about all the crazy things that happened and then went to sleep.
Now I've got ten minutes before my home teachers come over to get ready!
Happy Sunday!
