Jailbait

I titled this blog jailbait because it was Zach's EIGHTEENTH birthday on Saturday which no longer makes him jailbait!
So since it was his birthday, of course I had to go to Mesa... I know what you all are thinking, didn't this girl just go to Mesa last weekend? Yes, yes I did, and no I don't mind one bit going to Mesa two weeks in a row.
So here's how my weekend went...
FRIDAY
Woke up, went to my philosophy discussion class and listened to people debate about utilitarianism, then went to devotional. OH MY GOSH this was the best devotional ever. The speakers were my friends Chloe, Mary and Lexi and the overall topic was cancer. Chloe started a Relay for Life team at the institute so she spoke about what Relay for Life is and encouraged people to join our team (I intend to join the team. I've been on a team for the past two years and they are seriously the funnest nights of my life). Then Mary spoke about her experience fighting against bone cancer and then Lexie spoke about her fight against Leukemia. It was such an emotional devotional, I can't even imagine how tough it would be to fight a battle like that, and these two girls are so strong and so inspirational to all of us. I'm so happy I've gotten the opportunity to get to know them and become their friends!
After that emotional devotional, it was dollar lunch, the meal was taco salad, yummmmm! After lunch I went to my discussion class for Anthropology, learned about chimpanzees and then went to work! At work I had the opportunity to hand out with one of my sassiest students, Estefany, and go to the campus pantry. For those of you who do not know what campus pantry is, it's a program on campus to help provide food for students for free! All you have to do is show them your Cat Card and you get a grocery bag where you can choose six items of food to take from three different tables and then there is another two tables filled with smaller snack items and beauty products that you can take as much as you want of! It's such an awesome program for the students here and if you're interested the next one is March 7th I believe, right next to the highland market. Here is a picture of Estefany with all her awesome freebies.
After work I went and picked up Rory and then were started our way back to Mesa! We had some good conversations about our lives and our futures and the church and people, good sibling bonding time. Once we got to Mesa, I notified Steph (who also came to Mesa with Lauren for a mini vacation) and then they came over, and then Lauren got picked up by her mom to go to her house. Then Steph, Kenzie, Avery and I went to Chipotle for some nummies and Steph snapped a shot of one of Avery's favorite hobbies, hugging me and Kenzie and saying "we are the sisters"
While we were waiting in line at chipotle, Zach conveniently got off work and just walked over to chipotle to meet up with us. After we got our food to go we dropped ofd my sisters at home, picked up Sadie then sped over to Parkers house because he got his mission call earlier that day!! It was super convenient that he got his mission call on the day that I was already coming home. He's going to be serving in Chile, which is the same place his Dad served, that's pretty awesome if you ask me!
After he opened up his call, Steph, Zach, Keaton, Jacob and I rushed to the school to attend Comic Relief (which is like a high school version of SNL and all the proceeds go to cancer, and that makes it all worth it)! The show was actually pretty good (shoutout to Kelly and Kyle for being the people that took the lead in the show and Connor for being the most hilarious actor in the world).
After the show I got to see a lot of my STUCO pals from last year, it was certainly nice to see all of them even if it were for a few minutes! Watching the show made me feel real nostalgic of last years Comic Relief, which was one of my senior year highlights.
Then we went to Taco Bell and Albertsons and I discovered that I've got bad blood pressure... so that's not good. After that we took Steph back to my house to do homework/play with Avery/go to sleep, while the rest of us went to Zachs played a little basketball, dropped Jacob off at McDonalds and then drove Keaton home. This was a historic moment in my life though because I actually went INSIDE Keatons house... out of the many time I've picked him up/driven him home he has never once let me inside his house, but this time her did for me and Zach. It was such an exciting experience for me... no one's been to his house... Our main purpose there was to get a photo of Keaton and Zach for Keaton to post on Instagram for Zachs birthday.
They're a little awkward but I love em.
SATURDAY
Zach's birthday!!!!! I woke up, got ready, did some last minute present preparation and then picked up Zach for a fun, awesome, totally wicked, full of free stuff, gnarly 18th birthday day!
For his birthday present I got him a 12 pack of voltage, 8 pudding cups and a delicious heavenly smelling cologne (shout out to EJ for driving me to the mall and Steph and Annabeth for tagging along on the adventure earlier that week)
Our first stop was Firehouse Subs where Zach got a free sandwich!
After lunch we went to QT to settle a "bet" (quotations because there was nothing at stake with this bet) on whether the fountain drink root beer was Dads or not... it wasn't so I was right. We also got drinks and I got munchies there though to help the economy and what not.
Then we went to Krispy Kreme to get a free doughnut and I saw some of my favorite co workers. Then we went back to his house to chill before we went to mall to attempt to buy him some new shoes, but he's not very good at making decisions so he bought a pretzel instead. Then we went and watched my favorite movie (why did we watch my favorite movie you ask? because he had only seen it twice and didn't understand a reference I made to the movie earlier that week so we had to refresh his memory. Oh the movie is Zoolander by the way).
After the movie we went to Joe's Farm Grill because he got 10 dollars off his meal for his birthday, and they had shrimp there and he was pretty excited about that. This is my favorite place to go, it's such a cool little restaurant and it was nice enough outside that we got to sit on their tables under the cool old fashioned lights.

After dinner we went to Bahama Bucks to get his free shaved ice. Oh and during this time Arizona KILLED colorado in basketball, it's always nice to have games where it isn't down to the wire AND being on the road.
Then we went back to Zach's house and Sadie, Trevor and Parker came over to watch Iron Man 3. I don't know what it is about the Iron Man movies but I can't seem to ever stay awake during them, which doesn't make sense because they are clearly not boring movies... So yeah, I fell asleep, and before I knew it, it was past midnight and time to go home!
I had an awesome day celebrating Zach's entrance into adulthood, now we are the same age and I won't get teased for having a boyfriend who's jailbait, wooh! I'm so happy EJ let me take his car this weekend so I could spend the day with him, and I'm happy Zachs parents didn't make him go to the cultural celebration all day practice!

SUNDAY
Sunday I went to Sadie/Zach/Trevs ward to see an old pals, Logan Jensen, farewell talk. This kid is such a hoot, he's so hilarious and a great speaker. He's going to be one heck of a missionary in Mexico, his light is going to spread to everyone there. Oh & he quoted Zoolander in his talk, what's better than that. After sacrament meeting I was a bad influence (sorry Pam) and made Zach come with me to drive Rick (Sadie's dad) home to get his truck to take back to church, and so I could say my goodbyes to Zach.
Then I made my way home, packed up my stuff and started my journey back to Tucson. Now I'm doing homework and obviously blogging. I don't want school to be tomorrow but I guess I can't do anything to change that so I will be positive about it.... wooooooooooh.....
