Triple So Hard

Winter break for the kids at U of A is officially over, everyone has made their way back to the motherland (Tucson)... oh except for me because I graduated. When I graduated high school there was not one ounce of me that wanted to go back, this time around it's way different. There's maybe three ounces of me that want to be back in a classroom, but just about every ounce of me wants to be back in Tucson. It's so strange to me that that chapter of my life is over... it went by all too fast. BUT I am super psyched about being done with school and moving on with my life at the same time.

Right now my life isn't all the cutting edge, so my blog posts are either going to be way shorter or way less frequent, which I am sure some people wouldn't mind. Most of my days go a little something like this: hang out with Zach. And I'm not complaining. We are actually quite productive, which is good because I would probably go insane. For instance on Friday (6th) we got an emissions test for my car, gave it a nice wash and completely cleaned it out (even the treacherous trunk that has been collecting junk since EJ had it). Nothing feels better than having a clean car... and I wish I would have taken the time to keep it clean in college, but now that I have all this free time I can make sure it doesn't get to the way it was in Tucson (and bonus I don't have to drive it on those awful Tucson roads anymore... except when I got to visit of course).
We also started Zach's college applications, which is suuuuper exciting. I am going to live so vicariously through him now.

Don't worry though I don't only hang out with Zach. We are social people sometimes.
On Tuesday we went to Andrew's house for a game night, which are always a good time. I was introduced to a new version of charades that I LOVE, I'm going to play it forever.
On Wednesday we marathoned Star Wars movies with some of the Strippers. We watched episodes 4 and 5 ON VHS at Andrew's house with Andrew, Abby, Rory and Brittany. We ordered pizza in between the two for a little break and for lunch. We then went to Derrick's house to watch episode 6 in his in home theater... the quality different was insaaaaane. Unfortunately the bulb in the projector blew during the movie so we had to finish the episode on the normal tv. Then we took another break and got some dinner, then we all made our way to Brittany's house to watch episode 1. Kara, one of Derrick's friends and on of Brittany's friends came along for that one. Rory, Zach and I left after that movie but everyone else apparently stuck it out for one more. I was very impressed (Zach and I finished the rest of the movies throughout the week, ending with episode 7 with Trev last night).
On Thursday we hung out with Andigail and started planning the greatest summer road trip known to man. There are a couple obstacles in the way, but an epic summer road trip WILL happen, I will die before it doesn't. We also got french toast from Kneaders (my first time trying it) and I have never had french toast so DENSE but it was very delicious.
The next day we tripled so hard with Andigail and Tharissa. We went to Floridinos (home of the famous pizza rolls that you may hear Abby rave about) and then went ice skating at AZ Ice. I haven't been ice skating in literally 10 years, and the last time I went I  got a nasty cut on my leg from the boot... not a fun experience. But this time around it actually was a good time. I didn't fall ONCE and I went faster than a snail, so success. The most stressful thing about ice skating at a place like AZ Ice is how crowded it is, and there's so many little kids who are infinitely better than me at ice skating and I am terrified they are going to accidentally run into me because I am a slow poke and then I am going to crush them... seriously a kid was skating backwards like a real cool kid and almost ran into me... dang kids.
Poor Zach didn't think it would be cold... so he didn't bring a jacket... his arms and hands were so red by the end of the night. Marissa was the smartest and came with hats and gloves.

On Saturday night we got together with the Fam for a game night. I introduced them to Suspicion (a new game my family got for Christmas). It's definitely not a short game, but they loved it so much that we ended up playing it twice and it was the only game we played the whole night. It was much more enjoyable playing with people who will take the game seriously (cough cough).

Sometimes we even separate (I know... shocking). He is going to be starting school soon, so I better get used to it.
On Saturday morning I went and did a session at the temple with Sadie. It was SO AWESOME. I seriously love going to the temple, and going with my best friend was just the cherry on top of it all. Our session was SO packed, we couldn't even fit everyone in on the right sides. Sadie and I couldn't even find each other afterward because of how packed it was, it was pretty funny.
I have decided to accept the fact the I must go to the singles ward here in Mesa. Zach had stake conference so he didn't join me, and Rory slept in so he didn't join me either. So I went alone. Luckily I found friends in Truman Tipton, Kylee Smith and GwenElise Judd, so I didn't have to sit alone. Luckily Kylee and GwenElise are technically new members as well so the three of us went to the new member class during the third hour of church, which was much more enjoyable than going to Sunday school. I sure did miss the goold ol 3rd ward of Tucson, but I am going to make the best of Meridian ward and going to church with people I went to high school with....

My freelance opportunities have been few and far between and I haven't been getting paid the big bucks from it. So I decided it was time for me to sell my soul a little bit and start advertising as a photographer for literally anything that people need pictures for. I completely redid that section of my website, and then shared it on Facebook. As much as I don't want to be just like everyone else with their photography business, I am excited to make it my own and let my little photojournalist shine through. I am also very excited to actually make money. I already had a few clients contact me on the first day, so I am excited! Thanks to everyone who supported me and shared my post, y'all are the best.
Oh I should also mention that right before I decided to do this I dropped another huge chuck of cash on a 24-70 lens... I am going to regret that purchase until I have the lens in my hands on Thursday, and then I am going to be IN LOVE.

Also something that I am doing everyday... that I should be doing way more with... is going on walks with Avery (while she rides her bike). I have made it a goal to walk 1 mile everyday (separate from the usual walking that I do to get to the places I need to). Hopefully over time I will hike that goal up... and maybe even start running (I don't know if I ever could). Here's to getting outside and being active-ish.

Happy back to school everyone!
