Lots of Gifs

I don't have a whole lot of pictures for this blog, so please enjoy the gifs
Monday June 27
I had my usual class on Monday morning. We had a guest speaker come in to talk to us about networking and developing long-lasting connections. So that was really good to have someone talk about. It really freaks me out that I am supposed to be getting a big person job in six months. I am hoping that as I go through my last semester everything will kind of just fall into place, but it's scary to think about. Where will I go? What will I be doing?
After my class I got home and went to the mail box and found a letter from Zach! This would be my first letter he has written me so I was thrilled. PLUS, there were TWO letters in the envelope: double bonus! I sure do miss that kid.
Receiving a letter from him motivated me to write a letter, so I did that and went and mailed it when I was done.
Then I had to go on campus in the scorching heat to take some pictures in the Union... it wasn't very exciting. Then I attempted to recruit people to drive up A Mountain with me, but I didn't have any takers, so I made my journey on my own.
Then I had my weekly Wildcat editors meeting, also nothing exciting.
But after the meeting I went with Ty, Jenny and Rylie to Krispy Kreme! This was actually my first time going to the Krispy Kreme here in Tucson, so it was quite the adventure.

Tuesday June 28
I organized a photo desk meeting in the morning. Brandi brought doughnuts, so she's my favorite. The summer photog staff is really small the meeting was really chill, nothing too official.
After our meeting I went to lunch a Five Guys with Brandi and Chastity. They're my favorite people in the world.
After lunch we went to the newsroom to start production, Brandi hung out with us for awhile. I discovered Brandi's love for Celine Dion is equal (if not greater) to mine... I also discovered that some people were dropped on their heads as babies and as a result they do not like Celine Dion. It's embarrassing I know.
The newsrooms discussion about whether or not Celine Dion is queen or not, brought up the idea of making a newsroom playlist of all the editor's favorite songs. I think I like old school music too much for all of them, but Sam did bring Toto into the mix so that made me happy.
At night, Brett ordered everyone pizza to watch the second game of the College World Series finals. We won game 1, so if we won this game we would be champions. But if we lost this game then we move to game 3. I can only watch the last two innings of baseball for me to stay entertained. So I watched Monday's bachelorette with Brandi until the 8th inning. We unfortunately lost the game, but the series wasn't over yet.

Wednesday June 29
Orientation is OVER! So I didn't have anything to do until Wednesday evening. I slept in, I did my laundry, it was great.
In the evening, Mamta assigned me to go shoot an Introduction to Business Spanish class at the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. I got there a few minutes early and no one was in the parking lot and all the doors were locked. I called the reporter. No answer. Called Mamta, she told me to stay for another ten minutes and then I could leave. During my ten minute wait, I went to the THCC website and found out the class was actually supposed to be on Thursday, and Mamta accidentally told me the wrong date. Luckily, I don't live far from the place so it really wasn't out of my way.
The third game of the CWS was postponed due to lightning. I was expecting it be postponed a couple hours TOPS... but alas it was postponed until Thursday at 10 am.
I took Jenny with me to the newsroom for a News meeting Chastity was holding. I needed to make press badges for all the new reporters and there was food, so it was a good deal.

Thursday June 30
Class at noon. The usual exciting class life.
I had a couple "meetings" with Brett, Brett and Sam, and then Sam and Beka. Good stuff.
I went bak to the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for the Spanish class. This was actually their final class before graduating, so all the students were giving their final presentations. That doesn't make for the best photos (especially in a poorly lit room) but I got what I needed!

After the Spanish class I went to Institute. This is actually my second time going to the summer institute class, which is pretty sad, but I've always been sent out on assignments on Thursday nights which makes it kind of difficult to attend the class.
After the class Ty and I drove Jenny to the train station because she was spending the weekend back home in California. Then we watched some How To Get Away With Murder and Ty told me about the drama that's going down in Snowflake with a man shooting his daughter-in-law and her mom. Snowflake be cray.

Friday July 1
HAPPY CANADA DAY!
To say that I was peanut butter and jealous of my family being in Calgary on Canada would be an understatement. I may have shed a few tears #noshame
I started off my day going to Ramon's Automotive for an assignment for the Star. It was a good time, I got some good photos.
Afterwards I went to the newsroom to edit my photos, and then I got my next assignment. STORM CHASING.
There was a flash flood happening in Tucson, and I was sent out to capture all the madness. Imagine my low-riding old-school Buick trying to make it's way to the parts of town where other cars were sinking. Yeah it was a little insane. I also didn't have any rain gear for my camera, so I make shifted some with a plastic bag. Don't worry everyone, neither my car nor my camera got damaged... but I did get just a little bit soaked.

Once the rain cleared up and some of the flooding stopped, I went back to the newsroom to edit my photos, write my memos for class, and then I was out of there.
I quickly went over to a tea house for an assignment for the Wildcat, and then went and washed up at my house, and then made my way to Mesa.
I don't actually have a key to my house in Mesa, and my family is all in Canada, so I was hoping to pick up the spares that one of our neighbors had while they were gone. But I couldn't get in contact with her, so on the drive I really wasn't sure where I would be sleeping, but I did have a couple options (Sadie's and Zach's empty house haha). Luckily I was able to get the spares, so all is well.
I went to the movies with Sadie, Parker and Parker's cousins who Sadie has been babysitting all week while the parents were in Hawaii. We saw Finding Dory. It was everyone's second time see the movie haha, but it was my first time staying all the way until the end (which I highly recommend doing).
After the movie I went and got Frozen Yogurt with Sadie to catch up and talk about fun wedding things and not quite as fun missionary girlfriend things.

Saturday July 2
I spent the day with Sadie and the kids she was babysitting. We pretty much spent the majority of the day working on her wedding slideshow that will be playing at her reception. Baby Sadie and Baby Parker are the cutest little things ever. Y'all better be looking forward to it. The rest of the time we were playing games and watching youtube videos. If you haven't seen this one, you have to watch it:
Saturday is of course Zach's P-Day, and he was on for a really long time this day because the Provo Temple is closed so there wasn't anything for the missionaries to do. Hearing from him is the very best part of my week! If you aren't on his group email list, you definitely should be!
In the evening, I went and got some Kneaders for dinner and hung out with my home girl Chloe (that's my dog, don't think I actually have a lot of friends in Mesa) for most of the night. At one point it sounded like people were shooting fireworks right at my house, so Chloe was really terrified. Crazy chickens.

Sunday June 3
Today I made my way back to Tucson to make it to church on time. There were a lot of veteran's that bore their testimony today which was really cool considering it's the 4th of July tomorrow. Everyone that wasn't a veteran that got up made sure everyone knew that before they started saying anything, I thought that was pretty funny.
I don't know how 3rd Ward got so lucky to have break the fast land on 5th wards Sunday for the second month in a row. 5th Ward's BTF's are so much better anyway haha. We had some paninis this month, and they were delicious!

Tomorrow is the Kiss concert! I am super excited! Although I read that they don't do their full makeup thing anymore because it just sweats off. I think I am kind of okay with that because looking at their faces gave me nightmares as a child.
Steph gets back to Tucson this week, which is extremely exciting! It's been a long 3 weeks without her.
Also it's currently July 3 which means I have made it a little more than a month with Zach gone. This is ALMOST the longest amount we've gone without each other since we started dating. The great news is that I am still surviving!
