Monday March 21
For FHE we painted easter eggs! I only painted one because I had some work to do and also because the dye was not dyeing my egg fast enough.
Since Spring Break everything has kind of been a blur. Lots of school and lots of work. So while I am sitting here trying to remember what happened on March 22... I just can't, so we are going to hit the fast forward button to March 24.
Thursday March 24
Tom has been taking a temporary leave of absence so I have been covering for him on production days. I'm not really complaining because I get more money, and what could possibly be better than more money? Haha just kidding. But Thursday production was definitely a rough one. The paper was going to be a special sections issue about the basketball season. So that pretty much means we would be running two papers (kind of) once dedicated to sports, and the other dedicated to news, arts and science. The news, arts and science paper was a breeze, nothing too crazy... but that sports one could have killed me... SO. MANY. PHOTOS. But I got it all done in a decent amount of time, so all is well. I also learned how to do payroll so I feel like a real boss now.
Friday March 25
The usual work in the morning, devotional, dollar lunch (ham sandwich sliders) deal was the same on Friday. Dollar lunch was a little more entertaining than usual because Steph, Andrew and I played around with faceswap... it seriously never gets old.
Then after dollar lunch I had to go work on my package for broadcasting and turn that in... so that was fun. Then I went to the Daily Wildcat to do a little bit of work... also fun.
Later on Friday night it was Ali's bridal shower! The party was the bomb.com. There were lots of fun games (I won the game where you had to guess if a fact was about Ali or Bryce, I got 100% holllaaahh) (I really lost in a game where you had to guess Ali's age in photos... I only got one right and it was one taken last year hahah), delicious food (cafe rio style sweet pork burritos), funny gifts and funny jokes, and a very cute baby.
Bryce's mom was there taking pictures of the event and I have yet to see them, and I did not take any pictures, so no pictures of the fun shower for the blog today, but if I ever get ahold of them I will update the blog!
Saturday March 26
Steph, Rachel, Rory and I left around 9 to start our journey to Mesa for Easter weekend celebration (Steph was spending the weekend with us, and I was just driving Rachel to her family's house in Gilbert).
When we arrived in Mesa we started off the party like any Richardson would by watching Grease Live! (I'm telling you people, my family is addicted). Then we went to lunch at chipotle and got some lunch dessert from Bahama Bucks... always delicious.
After lunch Steph, EJ and Kenzie went shopping, I stayed home with Avery and waited for Zach to get off work.
Eventually everyone made their way back to the house to dye some easter eggs!
Then there was a dilemma of what to do on a Saturday night in Mesa. Zach and I originally planned on going to see the Easter pageant, but there was also this party at a Museum in downtown Mesa. The pageant was free and the party was ten bucks... but since I have been to the pageant many times before we decided to go to the party thing. The group consisted of: me, EJ, Rory, Steph, Zach, and eventually Lauren who met up with us there.
I was expecting the party to be a really lame mormon thing that would be a waste of money... but it was actually pretty cool! You could walk around the museum, you could look at some dinosaurs, do some crazy puzzles, eat some desserts or join one of the two dance parties.
One dance party was on in the basement. They took requests, had cool light and were apparently going to make it rain with $180. But.... no one knew where it was. Since we requested songs we went down there... and we were the only ones in the room besides the DJ.
The other dance party was on the roof, and that one was much more popping, so we spent most of the time up there.
There were lots of mormons there as I suspected, but it was not a weird mormon thing like I expected it to be, it was actually quite a bit of fun, #noragrets
We ended up leaving around 10 which was apparently too early because EJ won a raffle for an In N Out gift card, but we had already left so they gave it to someone else.
Sunday March 27
The most important Sunday in history... except for Super Bowl (classic joke made by Steph Shaw in Sunday School). But really it's crazy how much my life and everyone else's lives are affected by one event. I am so grateful for my Savior and eternally grateful that he conquered death on that Sunday so there are never any permanent consequences for me #hallelujah
We woke up in the morning to open our easter baskets, the e bunny is seriously the best and always come in clutch with some goodies. My favorite this year was a necklace to add to my collection.
So I went to my home ward with everyone, my dad taught Sunday School which was good, but then the siblings, Steph and I left after Sunday School to start the meal prep of Easter lunch.
My mom recently got a food processor and it's actually the greatest thing in the whole world, so that was my job during food prep.
Eventually everyone else came home from church and then it was time to... attempt... to take family photos.
It's seriously mission impossible for us to take a decent picture together and for us to take a picture without someone announcing their departure from the family. This year Avery decided she wasn't part of the family anymore because the pictures weren't going exactly her way (that she was being bossed around pretty much). Shout out to Steph for being able to capture these crazy moments:
Zach, Granny, and Master came for the Easter celebrations.
Zach, McKenzie, and I were exiled to the children's table with Avery... so that was fun.
Easter meals are the best because my mom makes quiche... and boy do I love quiche.
After lunch it was time for the egg hunt! I always look forward to the egg hunt because I always make a few bucks to use throughout the week, and it makes me feel good that nothing is coming out of my bank account.
This year I got 7 dollars from the egg hunt and 10 dollars from a basket that Zach's mom got for me, so I'm pretty much a millionaire. I also got toooons of candy, that I don't think I will ever be able to finish.
After some napping and some chilling, it was eventually time to head back to Tucson... laaaame. I seriously hate the drivers on Sunday night... too much braking.
Also major shout out to Alex McIntyre for covering for me and Tom on Sunday #youdabest
Monday March 28
Monday was kind of a train wreck for me.
I woke up to a text from my Dad saying that I couldn't take the suburban up to conference this weekend, even though I had previously gotten permission. So then I went into panic mode trying to figure out how this group of 6 is going to get up to Utah.
Chase was also a train wreck in the morning... without going into too much detail... hiding... bathroom... facetime... scarred for life.
Michelle wasn't making the rest of my work day any better either...
I also forgot that it was my enrollment day for the fall semester. Registration opens at 6 am, so usually you want to register right at 6 am in order to get into the classes you want... well I forgot about it until 9:30... Luckily since I am a senior, we register first and that means none of the classes fill up completely. So I still got into all my classes. But imagine how my heart dropped when I realized I forgot to register.... yikes.
I stressed about the car the entire day until the Walton's (bless their beautiful hearts) said we could take their van. I am forever in debt to them (this was seriously the only good thing about my day).
I also had lots of homework to catch up on that I did not do over the weekend... I really screwed myself there.
So yeah... Monday. What a day.
Tuesday March 29
In my app class we have finally started developing our apps, so that's exciting... and also very stressful. Institute was good. Broadcasting was boring but I was able to get some Daily Wildcat work done while I was in there, so it wasn't a complete waste of time. My DC class was kind of a struggle, but I made it through.
Then there was work. Any production day compared to my last Thursday production day is such a breeeze. I got out at a very good time so I have no complaints.
I probably should have done my homework with the extra time I had... but I just wasn't feeling it.
Also, Parker Whitmore came home from his mission on Tuesday, the fam is starting to grow instead of shrink #happyday!
Wednesday March 30
Apparently Michelle is not coming to school today so that means I am only working until 11, which means I have time to do all the homework that I didn't do on Tuesday. #blessed.
This weekend is going to be super exciting people, so be looking forward to that blog full of crazy Utah adventures... and me not doing homework.
