On Friday was the whiteout soccer game (my friends Lexe and Jaden are on the team, us mormons have now decided to call them Jalexe).
But before the game, Steph, Lauren, EJ, Matt and myself went to Lorena's house for an African dinner and for a little house warming party. Lorena is super adorable and so sweet for cooking for us and inviting us over. She is also so awesome because she is letting my roomies use some of her African fabric to make church clothes. Let me tell ya we are going to look so hot and so cultural with our new skirts everybody is gonna want some.
So after the dinner everyone except EJ went to the soccer game to meet up with the rest of the momo's. We were pretty late so when they were handing us our free white t shirts the size small was non existent, so I ended up with a large shirt and just used it as a flag. These games are super interesting mostly because of Taylor & Dakota who throw up red and yellow card all the time and blow their vuvuzelas like crazy. They're a hoot.
I was mostly interested in watch Jalexe play and didn't really pay attention when they weren't. But I did get to see Jaden's super cool flippy thing that I gawk over. Unfortunately my iphone is not super fancy so I couldn't get a nice picture of that.
After the game Ryan was going crazy and just really needed to get on the field so he did a kartwheel and some handstands.
We also got to say hello to Jalexe and get a photo with all the mormons.
Afterwards Steph, Lauren and I went to BJs because Lauren is addicted to pazookies. I usually do not join them when they get pazookies because I am not a big dessert person and I am always too full for dessert anyway. This time I got a pazookie though and it was delicious.
Saturday started out in an awesome way at Sarah's baptism. She is super cute and adorable and I am so happy with her decision to get baptized.
After the ordinance Ali of course made a delicious cake and then we all took some photos.
Sarah is the super cute one in the pinkish red sweater in the center
This photo was taken when I was supposed to be taking a photo of Lauren and Sarah
We love Ali
Around 2 my family arrived for the football game! Steph and I went to lunch with my mom and sisters while my father was in his element at the tailgates. After lunch Steph and I decided to go to the tailgates, got some free stuff, saw Maddy Truman grilling up a storm, but it was so dang hot we decided to chill at the institute with our BFF missionaries instead. We also heard word from Lauren that she would not be attending the game, so McKenzie picked up her cat card and met us at the institute to attend the game with us!
So around 4:15 we walked over to the stadium to wait in line in the furnace for an hour before the gates opened. Finally at 5:30 the gates opened which meant the struggle of saving seats for a million people and taking a million photos.
Despite her face, I am pretty sure she liked when we sneak her into zonazoo
This game was especially awesome because I got to hang out with my student Tony all night! He came up with some awesome cheers. He is definitely a hardcore Arizona fan
New friends are the best friends
Also not the smile sign. I got that at the tailgate because it would be a good idea to fan yourself while in the furnace. During the game it was a way for me to know if I was on the jumbo tron or nor. You see in a white out, yellow is really easy to point out. It was a success as I was able to spot myself many times. But the lame part was the fact that we didn't even get on the smile cam... THE SIGN SAYS SMILE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!
By half time it seemed like Arizona was bound to lose so many people in the zonazoo left. In fact, out of the above picture only Andrew and I stayed the entire game (well at least stayed in the zoo the entire time). It's a good thing we stayed to because Arizona made an EPIC comeback. It was a very intense last five minutes of the game filled with bots jumping on top of each other
We ended up scoring a touchdown at 0 seconds (apparently a term called hail mary) and won the game! We were behind the entire game but at the very last second (literally) we swoop in and win the game. SO proud to be a wildcat. It was such an exciting time we tried to storm the field but apparently my school is the only school that disproves of students storming the field. I was super bummed that Tony didn't get to storm especially... but it was still such an amazing win! And that my friends is why zonazoo stays the ENTIRE game.
After the game I ended up back at my house with my family. I played with Avery for a little bit before it was imperative that pictures were taken by her
For this photo instead of saying cheese she told us to say "I love EJ & Sydney"
And for this one EJ had to say "what about love" in reference to Avery's favorite Austin Mahone song.
Eventually it was time for my family to leave again and time for me to take a shower and go to sleep because I had to wake up 7 hours later for church! It was indeed such an amazing weekend full of white out sporting events.
